Can anybody explain please? Started by: Nello on Jun 27, '13 01:24
Does anybody know why is a criminal organization also called an outfit? I know that outfit means clothes but what does it refer to in, for example, Chicago Outfit?
Report Post Tip

I believe it refers to a military group. Kinda like a platoon.

In refereance to "Chicago Outfit"

One of the definitions out "outfit" is:

a group associated in an undertaking requiring close cooperation, as a military unit.
