What would you consider? - OLD AGE! Started by: Low on Jul 06, '13 13:55

We're all aging, this is a horrible truth which we all prefer to ignore.

There's nothing you, or I can do about it.. well unless you happen to be a rather talented biological scientist, in which case if you are I suggest you continue your research and avoid reading this.

However if you're like I am, aging through the years has brought some unexpected concerns I was oblivious to in my youth, the first being responsibility. If I could turn the clock back to an earlier point, (which in literal terms would have no effect other than me being fashionably late for every task the day has set me) but in a more hypothetical manner, where I'm now of age where responsibility is unknown I would.

To elaborate on what I mean by 'responsibility' (An obligation to do something in which if was left undone would result in your life becoming more of a joke than it already is) - Not meaning to cause offense by the 'more of a joke than it already is', however if this does cause offence, know that this is because of your defense mechanisms trying to shield the ugly truth, in a similar way a small fat child covers his arteries with carbohydrates.  But seriously don't be offended, just accept this is who you are now.

You may be asking yourself, but why is Low not a fan of responsibility?

For which I answer, the media has lied to us!  -
Every TV show I watched throughout childhood taught me that being careless and wild, with a small sense of initiative would eventually lead to success.. However the harsh reality is that I was arrested and sentenced to 8 years.

Thanks Breaking Bad.

Well i look at old as 70+ but every year i age, and with people getting older and older due to health techniques i am sure it will always change to people older than me, till none left.  I would change a fair few responsibilities i chose to take on, if i knew they would change my life for the better like never joining the army, never slacking off so much to end with a 2.1 degree not a 1st and the choice maybe never to go into business for myself due to the stress and strain it caused even if profitable.

Sadly we have to live with our errors and make most of them as is always something we pick up or learn whichever route we take.
