I was sat at a table with a few of the fellas. We were drinking newly imported Canadian whiskey, while puffing on some of those fine tasting Cuban cigars. We felt like kings in a castle, ruling the street. It was a good life, sitting with the sun on our faces and watching a few dames walking past. I wolf whistled to one of them and forced a smile out of her "Hey Dripple, you see that one in the middle? I fucked her in that place last Tuesday. You know the place I'm talking about. Where we took Jimmy The Knife for a beating. She was a good fuck" "By the way boys.. I hit the casino last night. Earned myself quite a substantial amount of cash too. Ain't sure how it happened, but a couple of us managed to rig the tables and we made a bomb at the blackjack tables. Maybe we should head back there next Wednesday eh" I take a puff on the cigar and I blow a few smoke rings into the air. It was so hot that sweat was beginning to drip down my neck. I didn't want the day to end, but I actually had to go make a collection down at the butchers place on 2nd Street. That motherfucker hasn't been paying me recently and it was time to break his fucking kneecaps. "Any of you boys fancy making this collection with me? I want people to understand that I mean business when it comes to paying their debts. I don't fucking play nice at all. Last guy ended up buried alive out in Jersey with his hair ripped out and a baseball bat wrapped round his skull" I stand up and drain my glass of whiskey. The rest of the fellas stood up with me. It was time to make my move. "Let's head off eh" |

This fella came up to me and spoke of my lack of knowledge where it came to the casinos... I think they called him WideAwake. I'd never seen or spoke to him before, but I had heard that was a Consigliere and I had to watch my manners. Top of the food chain was where all the power and action was at, and this guy was almost peaking. I flash him a smile and I return the conversation. "Ah, you couldn't be more wrong fella. I've spent most of my life in those damned places. I ain't no genius, but I have a lot of connections out in Texas and know a thing or two about rigging those tables. Naturally I'd earn a buck or two eh" "Maybe you should join me and the boys in a night of gambling.. Fuck it, maybe I'll get you a whore or two for the night pal. Whadda'ya reckon, can you keep up the tempo?" I throw a wink towards WideAwake and I pass him a Cuban cigar. "We're just on our way someplace, business wouldn't you know. Perhaps we could talk again in the near future?" |

Realising that this fella was actually a dame, I shake my head and look at her with my head tilted. Now that she mentioned it, she did look a little feminine up close. I think I offended the broad with my comments but I was never one to grovel for forgiveness. "We all make mistake, WideAwake. I thought you was a fella from the way you wore that cap to be honest" "I reckon you could still have some fun with the hooker eh. Who knows, maybe we'll get you so rich that you don't care what happens tonight. But keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground. Here's fuckwits all over the joint, crawling to steal your purse" "Maybe you'd be best off leaving it at home. I'll pay for tonight if you're coming with me and the boys. My treat for the mistake" I laugh as I take a puff on the Cuban cigar. I wasn't sure if WideAwake would take me up on the offer, but either way; I was going anyway. |
