It was an unreasonably cold and windy September night in Philadelphia, and Gohan had to shake off the chills after walking through the HQ doors. It had been a long night; he had spent hours hunting the Tyler Durden Crew, only to get a phone call notifying him that two thirds of Detroit had fallen. Although Gohan was saddened, he knew that business must go on as it was planned before hand, and he intended to do so. 

He made his way up to his office at slow pace, worn out from the day. The HQ was dead silent, save for some muffled grunts coming from Timon's room. Gohan decided not to investigate further. He entered his office and took a seat, rubbing the exhaustion from his eyes. Picking up his phone, he made a quick call down to Goten's room, calling him up to the main office for a quick meeting. 

Goten entered, looking nearly exhausted as his older brother, and sat down across the desk from him. Gohan gave Goten a weary smile.

"Goten, as you know, our family line goes back long before our parents married. Our forefathers have known each other since they first came to this world from the old country. You are my brother now, in blood and spirit, and I trust you dearly. Your father made a terrible mistake, and paid his dues for it. The past is the past, and I am a very, very firm believer in second chances. This has bitten me in the ass before, but I am not one to hold a person's parent's actions against them. I am confident that you will be an asset to South Philly. Do not let me down, little brother."

With a hearty grin, Gohan stood up and embraced Goten.

"Now, go out there and prove to me, and to all the people that I know will doubt you, that you are worthy of the position I am giving to you."

Fucking nepotism.

Timon was listening in on the speech and announcement, making his way to the front. After it was finished, he squeezed his way through the crowd and extended a handshake to Goten.

"As Godfather Gohan said, it is nice to see you get the chance to help us build here in South Philly. You've worked hard for us and you're more than deserving of this opportunity. I have confidence in you to do well and contribute to the best of you ability with us, and I know you won't let me down in that. Time to get back on the saddle as they say.

I wish you the best with your future opportunity and I trust you will make the best of it. Welcome to joining in the ranks amongst South Philly and Congrats. I'm looking forward to watching you grow my friend."

With that said, Timon gave Goten a heartfelt pat on the back in encouragement and raised his glass in his honor.

Well, nepotism like this is not so bad Arya... If you had to auth someone, you'd pick another Stark.

Congrats Toast. Good to see you bold again. Wish you the best on growing strong, like your brother. Kami will serve you well. 

Goten grins as his older brother tells him the good news.  Knowing the mistakes in his family line, he wasnt sure if he could achieve it again.

"Gohan, I appreciate the chance you are giving me.  Like you second, second chances are due to everyone.  It is my turn to prove that the fathers mistakes shall not fall upon the son.  I wont to prove anyone who doubts me, or your decision wrong."

Goten smiles a bit and turns to Timon.

"Our ancestors have also gone back ages, so for you to also be willing to allow me this chance, it means the world to me.  I can not wait to make you to proud, and help Philly thrive!"

Chaos looks at the shorter version of Gohan. A strange aura and sense of power emitted from him.

"Congrats Goten, I must say you and Gohan look quite familiar and have pretty interesting hair! You need to teach me how to get that yellow glow to flash all around me! Again congrats and Gohan continue to build South Philly the way you are doing it pal. Your hard work is paying off and you are doing a fine job there!

Just when i thought i'd seen everything.

blink rubs his eyes before carrying on his way back to the West Side, Chicago.

Livia listened to Gohan's speech with a smile on her face. After his announcement, she clapped and cheered loudly. She waited for the crowd to thin out a bit, watching as Goten received his congratulations, ignoring the snide remarks with a resolve even she wasn't aware of having. As the crowd parted, she saw Goten standing there, their eyes meeting. Her smile widened as she made her way slowly towards him. When she reached him, she wrapped her arms around him, squeezing him tightly. Then she took a step back, reaching up to smooth out his suit jacket.

How do I even begin to describe how incredibly proud of you I am? I know that you're going to do an amazing job and I consider it an honor to be able to work alongside of you in this city. Congratulations my love, I'm so very happy for you and this opportunity. 

Livia continues smiling as her eyes well up. She straightens her back and blinks a few times, not daring to let anyone catch this moment of weakness.

Go get em bebs.

She said with a wink. She leaned in, kissed his cheek, then turned around, heading back towards her HQ.

Meyer stands quietly to the side of the crowd. He doesn't say much but he nods as people pass him by. He glances at Goten every few moments attempting to catch his eye and give him a nod. He wanted to give the man a hand shake, some friendly conversations and congratulations... but at  the same time, Meyer knew he worked better behind the scenes. Philly knew Meyer's commitment to the city. He needn't show it too extensively.

Meyer had his way. While course and cold, everyone seemed to understand why and respect him for it... odd as it may be.

Lansky headed back to his HQ... more work was to be done.

I mean. Bran would be a good auth.

Goten looks at Arya and smirks at the mention of her brother.  Then looks down a bit.

I don't think Bran would be a very good auth though.  He can't walk.  

Seems this was before my time though I would like to congratulate Goten on his auth.

Though I have not known the fella as long as others he did gave a good welcome to this thing of ours when I arrived on these streets.
