...or better yet, what the hell do you stand for? In this world of ours words mean absolutely nothing...unless you back it up. As a Family Boss, you have "your ways about you" I'm just curious what "your ways" are. I know...I know "I don't have to answer to anyone about my practices" says the random CL. This is a true statement, I mean who the hell am I to ask you to come out and tell us how you would handle a certain situation. What I would love to do, and would love even more the participation of not only the family heads but the rest of the community as a whole. CL's please note that I use CL as a generic term as it is easier than repeatedly saying Family head, or Family Boss. I mean no disrespect by saying CL. This is what I would like to see, should you feel like participating: 1) CL, answer question from the community; question given in a hypothetical situation. 2) Community, lets give these CL's a nice list of situations and see how they would handle these hypothetical situations. Lets call this a "what would you do" speech...maybe I should have named it that instead. I'll give the first hypothetical: "A Made Man from another family is in the streets blatantly disrespecting a leader." What would you do if: 1) you are the Leader of the disrespecting Made Man? 2) You are the leader being disrespected by the Made Man? Keep in mind that this is a Made Man not a lowly gangster... So, lets hear it, ~FF |

What would you do if: 1) you are the Leader of the disrespecting Made Man? they would be dead. I have already killed friends of mine. 2) You are the leader being disrespected by the Made Man? Put them in their place with words. Let them stew for a short while, then kill them. I am a big believer in zero tolerance, no matter who you were, what youa re and if you're my friend. |

While I am much like Sing in the fact that I am slowly learning to enforce the zero tolerance rule, I believe I would take my 'punishment' per se to a different extent. If I were the leader of said Made Man, they would not get off so easily as mere death. Their title, first of all, would be stripped. Made Men should know how to carry themselves in the community, and obviously this hypothetical joker did not- so he loses the status that he should obviously have never earned in the first place. Then what? Take his gun, which is almost as satisfying as a swift kick to the nether regions. A man without his gun, in this world at least, is nothing. Being once more of a lower status and without his weapon, he is forced to apologize. Publicly. He dies either way, but you may as well embarrass the fellow further before he gets that chance- let the lesson really sink in. In the end, you put a bullet between his eyes. Your crew, your family, your friends should never disrespect you that way. Sure the jerk went into the streets and ranted up a storm about someone else, but in essence it is all a reflection back upon your leadership skills. Many family heads these days lead by example- and if you have people of a certain rank or above shouting like a crazy, it will more often than not have people questioning your own actions behind closed HQ doors. Now, obviously in the opposite situation I would have less authority. I would respect the other Crew Leader enough to not go on a man-hunt for one of their Made upon hearing the rant. A formal request would be sent, demanding no less than a public apology, stripping of title and death. I would do no less for them, so I expect that they would have enough respect to do the same for me. Call me insane for demanding all of the above, but you have to think of the family. One for all, or all for one? Is one jackass of a Made Man worth the rest of your family's lives? Sure as hell is not to me. I would have my best friend or brother shot if it meant sparing the lives of dozens upon dozens of other hardworking, honorable Mafioso. |

1) you are the Leader of the disrespecting Made Man? i would warn him thuroghly and make him aware that i would not strip him of his rank or his gun. i would simply kill him were it to happen again, and every son or daugther of his i could get my hands on for QUITE a bit of generations. (i am SOOOOOOO digging my own grave here, not just know but some time at some point in time.). and tell him to be more carefull. after all he is representing me. unless of course i were to agree with him, in witch case i'd tell him to get in line and follow orders but give him a pat on the shoulder and tell him he's gotten the general drift. 2) You are the leader being disrespected by the Made Man? this is tougher. i would consider if the disrespect was earned or not, in witch case i would warn him and his leader that there migth be a funeral to attend if they do not keep their ranks in order or simlpy demand the man hqd if i did not shoot him myself to make an example. or i would simply point out what a mckery the person or cl have drawn to themselves and that they should behave as though they were not children. well. guess i suck at this. |

1. He would definetly be stripped of the rank of Made Man and be told in no uncertain terms that he would never achieve it again. Like Oliver, His gun would be removed and he would be forced to make a public apology to the person he has disrespected. Should he fail to do so he would be killed. A Made Man should know how to carry themselves. I would be very upset if I had promoted him to Made Man as I would have shown a clear lack of judgement. 2. As they are not in my family I have no authority. I would expect the punishment to be the same as what I would give. I would make the other CL aware of the problem plus my stance and take it from there. |

1. You should not have achieved the rank of the Made Man in the first place - if you did then most likely you have accepted the rules and swore an auth. In this case, you should cut your own blood veins. 2. Arrange for an accident - simple as that. |

Sorry but I felt the need to add my penny's worth if this kind of situation landed at my feet. 1) Arrange a sit-down with the other leader see what they would like to see happen, making them aware that it would be dealt with in-house, rather than by an outsider 2) The appropriate way would be to do as above. If I was more powerful than the offending persons leader, I'd probably deal with it myself. |

1) Ask why they had broke the rules, then before they can reply, off them. 2) Shoot them, and their children, and their children's children! |

1. Depends. Did they deserve it? 2. I'd cry myself to sleep, because I'm four, and not a hardened criminal. |

No disrespect meant to Mr Figueroa when I say this, but I believe that it has been proved time and time again, that it is only in the midst of a situation, that we truly see how a leader will perform. It is all well and good to say you'll do one thing, in fact it is very easy to think of the appropriate response to such a situation posed. And where I feel your idea holds merit, is that I believe the community as a whole would find it interesting to see the responses of said leaders. However, I do not believe that in listening to these responses I will believe that their actions will echo their words. The real test of a true leader, is when they are put on the spot, when they are under that pressure - then we will see how they perform. Alas since we cannot replicate situations, my point remains moot until of course, the events unfold before our very eyes. |

Interesting replies, lets dig a little deeper: What if your Made Man blatantly disrespected another CL and wound up dead. Rumor is the disrespected CL punished your Made Man without you knowing? |

Then that CL and myself would have to talk over things and it all depends on the reasons supplied. Certain things would warrant death while most would not. I would not fire any shots before talking to the CL in question and hearing their reasons. However, if I felt the reasons supplied were not good enough I would have no choice but to declare war on that CL. It was an attack on my family, a trusted man of mine regardless of what they did, and I would reply in kind. |

The Great Cthulhu, the immense sticky green introspective priest of the Outer Gods, considers the questions. Carefully choosing his words the Star-Spawned Superstar invades the dreams of the sleeping mafiosa y mafioso and telepathically communicates with them. Getting your button is a privilege. It is not a right. You earn it. Becoming a made man in this thing of ours is an honor that should only be bestowed upon it's best and brightest. Those that live by a code of excellence and are their respective families representatives. Their role in the family is critical to that families continued successes. Their actions reflect not only on themselves but on their entire family as well. For every action there is a consequence. This concept is paramount to our way of life. One of your made men/women is seen spouting epithets and slurs in a public place? Shouldn't happen. We are ladies and gentlemen of honour and respect. We know how to conduct ourselves appropriately. We know right from wrong. We know the tenets of the family, violation of which will end in a characteristically violent death. There should be no such problem. Let's propose such an incident does happen, however. Mademan Salvatore "Sally Peaches" Giangrasso tips back a few too many Tuaca's (mmmm with the bitters and sugar and lemon) and is heard telling the assembled crowd that Family Leader Zeke "Hellbilly" Hatfield who runs the local crime syndicate in Mobile Alabama isn't fit to lead a cubscout circle jerk, let alone a family. A sentiment shared by many but never spoken aloud. Word of course gets back to you, his Family Head. Initial reaction? Any man or woman who transcends the life of mediocrity and makes something out of themselves demands your respect. They have overcome the many pitfalls and dangers of this thing of ours and have risen to greatness. Becoming a CL isn't easy. You need intelligence and charisma. You need to surround yourself with trusted associates and the intelligentsia. Even a putz like HellBilly should be treated accordingly with the attendant respect given to one of his station. At this point apologies are a moot point. Why? Because you just cut Sally Peaches's tongue out of his mouth. No more shooting your mouth off, capische? An example is then made: his head goes on a little trip to a landfill outside of town. His body goes down to Sloppy Swines hog farm so that the pigs can have a little more protein in their diet. Your point is made, the public rests assured that you don't run a family of drunken bums and degenerates, and the pigs are happy and fat. Win/win/win situation. Should the obverse occur and you find that as a Family leader your character has been besmirched by another family's mademan? Wars have been waged over smaller transgressions. Word gets out that someone has disrespected you in the streets. People think hmmm he's/she's letting people get away with that? Maybe I'll try to set up in their city too. Obviously they have gone soft. Make way, there's a new sheriff in town and what are you going to do about it. Nothing. Punk. Thoughts like that lead to serious consequences. Loss of profit being the most serious. At the end of the day we're all still businessmen. A few harmless words spoken perhaps in jest. Pity that. As a CL I would not tolerate this. The people within my organization are counting on me to help them and their families make a living. The loss of revenue would be inexcusable. Just as the initial insult would be. You talk disrespectfully of another CL in public, your life is null and void. Period. Don't take something from a CL that they have busted their ass to get. Including respect. The offending Mademan's family is on the hook. An apology would be forthcoming. As would monetary compensation. The mademan's head as well. All these conditions would have to be met to circumvent an escalation of violence. We all love peace. Why throw away an empire over the careless words of an unworthy associate? If all those conditions were met satisfactorially, then business as usual. If not, scorched earth policy in effect in 3-2-.. The Great Cthulhu returns his thoughts to evilness and Tuaca, and evil Tuaca shots, and leaves the dreams of the sleeping. |

The Great Cthulhu looks up from playing with 26-dimensional time/space fabric and posits an answer to the next question. Popping back into the dreams of the sleeping he once again crafts his words with care. Should I as a CL find that someone else has gotten to my own loose-lipped mademan before me? Taken the chance away from to to atone for a terrible mistake? Interceded in family business and shown me great disrespect? Come into MY city without MY permission to perpetrate an act of war upon a member of MY organization? Dealing with issues inside of ones own family is not a group venture. It is for the Family head alone to deal with. Talk to me, voice your concerns, ask for compensation, whatever. Your concerns will be addressed, your ego will be massaged, the problem will be taken care of. End of issue. One could interpret this as an equally blatant and egregious offense. Two wrongs don't make a right. Surrounding yourself with bright and intelligent associates is a blessing. Take advantage of these minds. Consider ones options. Weigh the consequences. Communicate openly with the offending CL and come to terms regarding boundaries, responsibility, and private property. My city, My people, My responsibility. Hands off. |

You have been behaving in a very disrespectful manner to others. You owe me 100k because you have disgraced the family by you disrespectful ways. Give me the money with in 24 hours. Once you paid your debt of 100k I will give 80% of that money to the leader you disrespected. If you do this you will be considered having paid for your disrespect. If you don't give the money with in the given time you will have fallen out of favor and be kicked out of the family. You will receive no pro wacks from the family if any members are found helping you they too will be put in this situation. If you join another family while being out of favor you will be killed. Your only option to living is to survive 24 hours out of favor. If can do this I will see it as your debt paid. ------- On a side note the leader accusing a member of disrespect would have to show me proof of the family member's disrespect. Mms, ws, and things that can be modified will not be counted as proof. Only posts will be seen as proof. I will always give a family member the benefit of the doubt. The amount owed for being disrespectful will go up by a 100k each time it happens. 2) Wait for my money or wait until the member falls out of favor. |

1) If I was the leader of the disrespecting Mafioso, two things would come straight to my mind. A) Is this guy telling the obvious truth? B) Could this affect my family, me, or the safety of others? If the first one is a yes, than majority of the time, I will not do anything. If B is answered yes, than I will kill this person immediately. Sometimes, you must sacrifice one, even if it’s a made man, to save many more. 2) If I was the leader being disrespected by this Mafioso, I would kill him, no questions ask. Unless, of course, the leader is a stronger family, than I politely ask the crewleader to do something to that member. If he doesn’t, there isn’t much more one can do. You could fight a needless war, just because you are upset at a comment. It would be a waste of a bunch of deaths. Maybe I am just a family man, but 30 of my family deaths > 1 Made man death. |
