The Leader and The Spade Started by: ManceRayder on Oct 18, '13 21:26

After winning at the casino Mance Rayder comes out onto the street with the air in his hair and spring in his step…

It’s about time I started making some sense and maybe bring an old topic up for discussion and I want the truth and nothing but the truth. Wait what?

Mance Rayder coughs a bubble…

In the past, not my past; our past we have seen many mobsters gunned down by the leader for wacking an innocent; ripping up their omerta and sometimes making a genuine mistake.

I’m here to talk about the latter and how it could affect our lifestyle.

Do you think that there is far too much unnecessary bloodshed on a leaders part?

Picture this…

You’re a Don Crewleader under a Godfather in Las Vegas, you recruited a member and that member was promoted to Boss, your member had worked hard for you, your family, earned the family a buck load of cash and done everything you have asked of them…

This one day, this one bad day, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and he ended up killing a civilian and someone witnessed this but the civilian was a bad egg, he was going to die sooner or later…

Your family member returned home and contacted you telling you what went down and how he turned and reacted.

The question here isn’t did this family member do wrong, of course he done wrong. The question is will your first thought be to get your gun out and head to his house to shoot him? Or do you think lets do a little digging and see how I can get ‘my guy’ out of this?

Now I’m pretty sure that 99.999% of you get your gun out instead of your spade. A small percent of you will lift your spade but keep your gun in your pocket but a very very small percentage of you will leave your gun at your desk and just take the spade.

With the above said, there is no risk to your life, having your gun out is solely for the purpose of shooting the person who has worked for you.

Now comes the risks to your life…

You haven taken your spade left your gun in your desk compartment and saved your family members life and now people are starting to ask questions. What do you do?

Will you buckle and let others convince you to go back to your desk?

Will you stand strong and stick by your member, your friend, your family who have worked hard for you and done everything you have asked.

Will you take a bullet for this member? Because let me tell you when you say “No I can‘t let my whole family die for this one member” when in fact sometimes letting this person down actually does just about the same damage to your family.

I change my mind I’m not here to talk about the rights and wrongs of killing family members with petty incidents because that much is pretty damn clear and has been for such a long time. I’m talking about who and what makes a true leader?

There was this one time, a page torn out and framed from my ancestry bible, this is something that all my children and children’s children will remember and in others eyes it may not have been the smartest thing to do but something that will always be remembered and looked upon by my family…

An Impact was made…

Many years ago my great great grandfather worked hard for his family and knew his time was coming upon him but at a fault of his own, he was an impatient man, he didn’t like to be kept waiting but his leader didn’t know anything about it. His leader liked him as a member and had grown fond of him, but not as friends who would hang around together in coffee shops but as business associates…

One day my grandfather made a grave mistake which he regretted not long after making and he seen fit to take his own family without the need of permission from his leader and don’t get me wrong, my grandfather wasn’t a violent man but he knew that what he was doing was a risk to his own life and any family he ever hoped to grow.

While wondering when his leader would take out the gun follow him he found that leader doing the opposite, his leader took with him only a spade and walked towards him with the little book of calm and approached him and said…

“I‘m trying to figure this out but there is people even I answer too, being a godfather doesn‘t help me but if anyone asks you are authed by me.”

A couple of hours (mins) later my Grandfather was found lying dead in an alley and later buried with his old leader standing next to the gravestone.

The old leader contacted my other grandfather, my great grandfathers son, and told him what had happened about how he tried everything he could to save his life but it was too late.

My family line learned something that day from my great great grandfather and that was patience and I think you can tell that something else was learned as well by the debate that I’m bringing you here today.

I don’t think that what the leader did was right nor what my great great grandfather did but there was something in there that made some sense on that leader, that godfathers, part.

Will this make anyone think twice? I don’t know.

All I know is that this changed and shaped the person I am today and if my family lineage ever become a leader they will only hold a spade for the people who deserve to be in their family.

i will be honest after seeing so many incidents, where one persons error or over enthusiasm has brought down a family i can understand why most reach straight for the gun.  As much as some of us may think x or y is gonna screw up sooner or later the truth of the matter is that will be some other leaders problem.

As much as is nice to think we can fix, alter and save friends. sometimes have to think hard on what and who you lose by saving 1 member who will probably still die afterwards anyway.
