I am curious, have we become so indistinguishable from our coffeeshop monikers that we can only refer to ourselves as a bloodline? It's hard to come across a relevant street debate here without somebody's bloodline being dragged into the conversation, somebody talking about their own bloodline, or people attacking someone else's bloodline in a passive-aggressive way of skirting around blatantly insulting somebody in a (for lack of a better term) OOC manner.

Perhaps people's bloodlines become their identities on here because there is nothing to differentiate themselves from their fathers/mothers. They're mostly carbon-copies of their ancestors. They don't establish themselves as any different or portray themselves in the streets as an individual separate from the one before them, so why should they be viewed as any different?

Maybe that is to be expected in a community such as this one where people forge bonds, friendships, and even enemies over the course of time. It happens, and coffeeshops such as divinelunacy and other IRC avenues often blur the lines. But perhaps here, in the streets, if somebody's bloodline wasn't referenced in every other sentence, conversations would play out differently. People insist on falling back on their bloodline's past achievements in order to get certain treatments, or incessantly reference their bloodline's shared personality traits, then cry when it is used as a reason to strike at them. They lapse in and out of personas in the coffeeshops, then wonder why what was said there is held against them in This Thing Of Ours. To not reference your past ancestry at all is viewed as "going incog" and is immediately held to scrutiny. I don't know what the solution is or if it's even all that big of a problem that it needs solving, but it just seems to me that the mentioning of people by their bloodline is more frequent and the term bloodline-hunting is used more loosely now than in times past.

My bloodline would be curious as to what your bloodline's thoughts are on this subject

Only line of blood that that leave behind is anal bleeding from my hemorrhoids.

My family has a very strong tradition to emulate the death of the biblical Moses.

When one of us is near death, or comes to a early meeting with his maker,  we have the following ritual:

  • Our family doctor rushes to our house of mourning and administrates a secret family remedy that causes instant amnesia and makes us all forget who the heck we are sad about.
  • The funeral home cremates the body of, well, someone, since we never seem to be able to remember who it was that died and the ashes are drop shipped to a hidden location in the Bikini  Atoll in the Marshal Island where they are safely buried and no harm will come to them.
  • We run a random lottery and find out who is the next sacrifice to the altar of crime and they head down to city hall to register as a newcomer to the 7 cities.

As you can see from the lists in City Hall, from one generation to another, our family really has no connection, each is their own bizarre and weird personality.

Given that fact, there really is no bloodline or grudges or even "I deserves" to base oneself on.

When I think about bloodlines, I can't help but wonder about the one particular bloodline that has had a grave and massive effect on me. I mean it possibly have changed my view of this thing of ours for good. It's the aspiring and curious legend of -PizzaTheHut. All these years and I wonder where his bloodline landed. Where did it end? Will the man ever come back? Will he show himself to the world ever again?

Same cannot be said for the magnificent Bearderus. His tale ended much before it ever began. Still I hope his bloodline is somewhere out there as well. Waiting, watching plotting his next move to stand as legend, on equal footing as -PizzaTheHut.

That's all from me Sexecutioner.

Honestly. Brethren,  the arguments been made a many time throughout history as I've read in the history books. Some say knowing ones bloodline let's a man know who he can trust, other's say an experienced bloodline is a plus to getting more than an dedicated soldier.

As someone who has a bloodline I shall say that I don't care if someone approaches me and says "I am the son of so and so". I may have an opinion of this person and know what to expect. When I am approached by a new face to these shores I give them the same respect until they prove me wrong.

With that being said I find I have better luck with taking "bloodliners" under my wing and bringing them up within a family setting more so than I do new blood. Some new stay, some go. Some lack character and some are great. But I do believe in treating all the same. I know a few old bloodlines that it'd be like flipping a coin on whether or not to trust them as well.

But because of their bloodline I also already know this ahead of time.

SaintAnthony chuckles slightly bbefore fading back into those whom have gathered.
