The creaking doors signalled that the place hadn’t been used in years. Slowly moving through the building Toy looked around at the pictures of the legends of the past on the walls. He was searching for the ONE, the one who started it all.

There she stood, the full length portrait showing all her glory, STEELDAWN, the Dawn of Glory family had been started by her many, many years ago. She exuded power, she demanded loyalty and she taught many lessons to her family members, many of which would go on to become legends in their own right.

The Dawn of Glory name passed to her Consigliere Toaly, the ancestor of Toy. Through the ages the Toaly bloodline carried it on until they went legitimate and stayed away from the life for many generations.

Coming back into the life the Toaly bloodline worked hard for many families they became Right hands, Left Hands, trusted advisers to leaders and friends to many. But Toy wanted more, he wanted to bring back what once was.

Toy reached the office and tried the lock, it would not budge, he reached into his jacket and took out an ornate wooden box, given to him by his father. He slowly opened the box feeling the weight of history on his shoulders. Inside the box, a shiny gold key sat rested on a pillow of satin. Toy took the key and fit it in the lock and turned, a ‘click’ signalled it had worked.

He walked into the room and reached the main desk, a beautifully carved antique which may have cost as much as the building it sat in, on top of it stood a gun, a photo and a note.

He picked up the note and read:

If you are reading this you know why you are here and you know what you must do, I quit the life in order to give my family every chance of happiness, but I knew there would be a chance we would be back some day, make me proud, make them proud, make US proud.

Toy looked at the photo there was Steeldawn flanked either side by Chant her husband/ right hand and Toy’s ancestor her consigliere, a tear welled up in Toy’s eye.

‘’I will do it, I will make you proud, it’s time for Dawn of Glory, it’s time for a new day to rise again. It’s time for Dawn of Glory – A New Dawn’’

Congratulations again my dear friend, today marks a new day and a new era for the great Dawn of Glory family name. 

Congrats Toaly! Well deserved, best of luck on the start of your rule!
