I have always been a supporter of the district sys, it splits a city in multiple districts, gives new names/faces a chance to step forward and earn their stars...accolades/honors. And with the micro travelling its made it a lot more easier for ppl to sit in one city and be able to 'do something', outside of waiting for Ia's and travel times to be up. And I also think it adds a aspect to war that we have never seen before. An aspect which is going to make wars smaller...cause bigger wars just won't be that easy to manage, because you need a lot of information now to be efficient. Which gets us to that level the gods want us at, cities interacting vaguely and the districts working together more. Cool, but with the user base in mind, I think there needs to be some 'temporary' tweeks perhaps.
The districts implemented the separation of pp/hitting/etc from the city, into smaller pieces. Here is the problem that I see. The rogue for example is allowed to be shot across the country. I don't see why durdens can't be shot across whole cities? Cause i mean just straight math, the odds of someone hitting at random after picking a name off the 60 sec list use to be 1/4...not bad. Now those odds are 1/15. Its almost necessary for your crew to have 'mapping' now inorder to hit these Durdens. From my orignal understanding...the durdens were a gift from gods. We bought credits, we shot MIA's....Durden showed up. And then holidays and so forth. So why make hitting Durdens harder? Ia's are still differentiated based on districts, pps and etc. So why not make durdens avail to the whole city to hit? Cause i mean if you look at chi...your odds of hitting a Durden in Chi are now worse than what they use to be in the country!!! 1/5 chi vs 1/4 country! So all I am suggesting is that Durdens be allowed to be shot from cities and not districts, because 1/15 really???? Thats just unreasonable for the user base we have atm.
If the user base was big enough that the 'spheres' functioned separately then maybe we could talk about 1/15. Because then its not really 1/15. Then its 1/7 on each sphere!!! Atm there is no such differentiation of spheres...if your gonna do that, implement it all the way. Separate the spheres...make it fair(implement the reductions/increases in stats when you travel)! Cause 1/15 isn't.
With the micro deals the earners have a shot of earning every 5mins plus the big jumps. Rpr's....well that isn't even differentiated, unless you talk BD's which are still city based. There are three aspects to the game. And my bloodline has excelled at all of them at different times. To some ppl this game maybe about RP, some its about earnings...what about the guys that wanna hit? 1/15 is unreasonable compared to 1/4 as it use to be! To some ppl this game is numbers and math...and that math is just outright unreasonable for the userbase we have atm. If we could support the 'spheres' it be different. But its not. And with the hours to fly around it makes it impossible to chase around shots...across the country(minus the mult-millon dollar flights during war)! When it was every 2hrs...maybe then the 1/15 would make sense. But atm I suggest make the Durdens shootable inner city! We just dont have the userbase to suppot 1/15.
And if this does persist consider this for a second. Ppl usually go Stealth, def, offense, info on their codes. This persists your gonna have the site running around on info codes. I mean that might be a good thing. But all i'm saying is do you really want that kinda uniformity....just makes the game dull rather than vibrant. I know the long term benefits are great...but we just don't have that user base atm. So for the time being make a temporary tweek.
But again!
Don't mind me I'm just thinking out loud...all these Durden's got my head in the clouds!!! |

I disagree wholeheartedly. It's nothing against your suggestion, I see the reasoning and the thought process. But this narrows the gap of the huge advantage stealth has over info, and gives people more incentive to use high street smarts rolls. You want to pick wack and pile up kills fast? Then it should be slightly harder for you to find those targets. Info answers have huge disadvantages to them; very low stealth, low defense, 81 trains to max. Anything that gives those answers a bit of a leg up, in my opinion, helps the game. Not to mention, anything that gives users a reason to spend credits will not be removed or changed. The admin stance on that matter has been made quite clear. I completely agree with your statement that mapping is almost an essential on durden spawns for those without vision. I don't think that wasn't intended. |

Oh I see your point Goku and I thought about that just didn't write about it! Yes it would be impossible to find someone on stealth now a days with the districts w/o having info. And yes I understand the benefits/downsides of being wack/info in the world moving forward. But your missing my point. Your talking about creation, I'm talking about formation!
Im not here complaining that one stats being undercut...what I am saying is, were half way in the middle of the street sorta! Hence I talked about stats such as 1/15 and 1/7 and 1/4. My whole reasoning was, Durden's are something that are given to us for buying credits, etc. A gift from gods per say.
What your talking about is completely different. Yes it will help immensely to have ppl running around on info during war. Yea it will help immensely for someone to be stealth during war (and its nice to give them some OP'ness...I mean the greatest example of stealth was DS. And that was before the districts were separated). But thats war, thats...how should i put this! Related to the basics of the game. Durdens came way later....Im keeping this thread specific to Durdens, not arguing whether certain account stats got op'd or undercut. I know they did, just i think its premature to make Durdens tied to districts rather than cities! Atleast with the user base we have now. Because my whole argument is about odds, not which accounts are pampered or undercut per say. As I said I think it's just unreasonable to go from 1/4 one day to 1/15...thats all. And that apply's to all types of accounts! Hence I suggested a tweek till the user base catches on!
I completely agree with your statement that mapping is almost an essential on durden spawns for those without vision. I don't think that wasn't intended.
If the intention was to use 'mapping' for every spawn...then I guess they hit the lottery! Cause its necessary now, not just a luxury anymore! Because to me 'mapping' was an added bonus for spawning MIA's before Durden spawns, or the God's blessed you with them for purchasing or contests.
Again! Like i said...don't mind me im just thinking out loud! All these Durds got my head in the clouds! |

I'm looking at this from a different angle from most personally. I agree with your points here Tither. I believe its a serious pain in the ass, it makes ID scrolling for those of us that figured that out back when almost non existant unless you want to spend 30 minutes looking for a target when a smaller spawn happens. Now understand that when we have our 500 spawns etc there's no fucking shortage and your going to get one. But, this takes out a couple of different things for me that I think most don't realize. How many of you pop a jail to find a durden? I've done it... How many of you pop half a CD to find a target bg? I do it on every spawn. How many people sign up on info? Seriously? This is the first account I've had that WASN'T defense... my mistake, I was a nub... it happens. You've pretty much ensured I won't be popping jails to find durdens. You've also ensured that I won't go after kills on them either. Why put in the extra effort when I can just pay half a CD and find a bg instantly? Not to mention there's no W/S on bg's. Double win for me. My biggest issue with this district separation situation is simple. There aren't enough players in this game to do it viably. This game isn't big enough to support, '15' mini cities. In the end, and I do say the end because to start with most will try and adapt and work around it just like we have done to every other MAJOR change this world has seen. But eventually, your going to push users away. One thing has happened on here from when I first started. It's gotten EASIER. I'm not for it personally, but I understand why the masses do it. Hell I do it at my job, after I saw what blizzard did to WoW from their first xpack. Never again will they make a top tier dungeon that 1% of the game will see before nerf. Why? Doesn't make mathematical sense to spend that much time and energy investing in something that a small percentage of the userbase will see. So what do they do? Make the game a joke of a cakewalk for players like me to lawlface through. What has been done here? Kills are stupid easy to mark up, there isn't a BG cap anymore so if someone works hard enough they can shoot anyone they want inside of 5 months, and top it all off... there's so many CL's now that providing you aren't a total fucking toolbag you WILL get your shot at the top. Do I like all these changes? No, but they MAKE SENSE to me. I understand the reasoning behind them, and I applaud them. However, what I do not appaud is this continuation of the separation of districts. It will FUCK this game within a year of it being fully implemented. |
