Report Post Tip

yes ziva thats why i recanted and agreed with war mongering lol

Report Post Tip

I'm not sure it's even war mongering though.

As little as I particularly want to get into this discussion here and now, I'll touch it a little.

I think it's more a pattern of large groups getting together to protect their interests - and sometimes having to create things of interest in order to maintain peace between themselves and keep their ranks happy.

It's nothing more than people would probably do on a smaller scale, but when done on a larger scale, it starts to become a little frustrating and boring.

Nearly every single war that my bloodline remembers since two Septembers ago, has been decided by who hits first, because of the sheer weight of numbers on the attacking side. Huge amounts of big guns have meant that the defending side has been pretty much obliterated in one swoop, and the main risk for the attackers has been that they might lose a member to a 1% whilst being pro'd, or a wack back.

It seems like these alliances are allowing for powerful mobsters and groups to live for longer than ever before. We more or less have to rely on them to make some kind of insurmountable fuck up before they die and we get a fresh take on things come through. And, as little as we all might want to admit it when we put our bold suits on, or our slanted suits on, we all reach a point where what we need, is something different, or else this thing of ours stops being of interest and excitement.

Report Post Tip

I would like to see it as just another cycle making another turn. Once it stops turning things becomes stale. Events like what just happened only gives room for change. Not every one might like the change but still change is necessary to keep this community alive.

Report Post Tip

Rest in peace to the fallen especially to those who died in their sleep and without a clue of what really happened.

I knew most them and it's really a waste. I hope just hope their kins will be back to these shores again.

Assassin walks up to the gathering crowd and hears what others are saying about the recent war. He steps out of the shadows to speak his mind.

I have to say i was taken completely by surprise by this recent war. Never the less, death is a part of our life and when we enter this world of ours we all know the risk involved. Though i do not know the reasons behind it, as Ziva mentioned earlier, I am also sure that a reason will be given soon. My condolences go out those who have fallen.

Assassin bows his head in a moment of silence

rest in peace to the fallen.

Assassin disappears into the shadows to enjoy some more of his top notch whiskey and a cigar.

Report Post Tip

Are reasons neccessary? I mean what will change if reasons are brought to light or not? It will just cause those affected by said war to bitch and moan about lies, fakes, logs, etc.

Why don't we just accept the fact that people died. Reason? A bullet hit their skulls. There is your reason.

Let's move on already.

Report Post Tip

Personally, I enjoy a good war speech.

For a start, it does bring some meaning into the deaths of our ancestors. It's a little frustrating to see a parent die and have no idea why. It's also interesting to know perhaps some of the things that've been happening in our world that haven't directly concerned us or our ancestors. It also is, I think, a good way for leaders to show off their diplomatic and public speaking skills. It can improve impressions of a leader if they can rationalize their actions, especially in the face of protest against them. Sure, leaders don't have to justify their actions, but if they can justify them, it means that the 'tyrant' label gets thrown around a hell of a lot less.

It also brings some life into our streets. It's something other than the endless stream of auth threads that we seem to get.

Report Post Tip

Those speeches of the great crewleaders and diplomatic skills are over shadowed by those angry ancestors who then take turns crying and turn the speech into a mockery and clown show.

I bet I know the reason. It's the same exact reason we ALWAYS hear about.

I betcha its based upon 'Rumors' that Subject A was planning on shooting Subject B.. and Subject B took the first shot to defend themselves.

Isn't this the norm?

Let's move on for christ sake.

Report Post Tip

Might be the reason. I'd hope it was something more solid, but even if it is rumours, I'd personally like to know how solid or otherwise they actually were. Because it's easy to spit up rumors as an excuse. Harder to prove there might be some truth behind it.

I don't particularly think they are overshadowed Carlo. It's interesting to see what the leaders have to say, for a start, but does sometimes get amusing at some of the reactions. But just because a few people turn something into what it was not intended to be, does not mean it shouldn't be done.

We're barely 24 hours pasted the carnage. The time for moving on hasn't occured yet. Most of the bodies haven't even gone cold in the morgue yet. Those family members left alive and friends of the deceased are still coming to grips with what has occured.

We thought of you with love today, But that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and days before that too.
We think of you in silence, We often speak your name. All we have now are memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake with whom we will never part. God has you in His keeping, We have you in our hearts.
If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place, No one else can ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn't go alone,
For a part of us went with you the day God took you home.
Rest In peace to all my family alliance, thought that some of ya did the unforgiving sins, but your names are always in our Hearts.

Hmmmm...interesting how Carlo tries to sweep what has just occurred under the rugs. Nothing to see here...move on..move on...yes right nothing to see here. As far as I can see the is no such bitching on the streets from those relatives of the deceased. What stands out particularly in this corner of the street is your effort to brush such bloody event aside. As Don Ziva mentioned earlier some light as to what led to what happened can help improve impressions of a leader if they can rationalize their actions.

Report Post Tip
But is it, its more a common courtesy, than an actual need to do it. Think about it like this, who in this world, considering the business in which we carry ourselves, would walk out into the middle of a street and tell the world that they had murdered a few hundred people?

Don’t get me wrong, i love a good post war speech, and i love the activity that it brings to the streets but, i don’t understand where this notion that a speech HAS to be made, does it make for good business? Does every tom, dick and harry have to be privy to that info, imo, no they don’t!

You often find, the people that need to know, know, and for me that makes for good business sense.
Report Post Tip
hmmmm...In our line of work it is even more important to know the reasons behind everything that happened specially if it involves taking down a crime family. If I am a head of a crime syndicate I sure would like to know as it might affect my business. A murder of a crime boss in Cicily no mater how far it is from this new world would still interest crime bosses here in America. How much more if the killings took place in a city just next to where you are operating...wont you be interested in knowing why?...wont it bother you and make you more coutious cause it too might happen to your organization?

Reason: Penquin/Viene were going to attack others.

End of.

Report Post Tip

Sure, leaders don't have to justify their actions, but if they can justify them, it means that the 'tyrant' label gets thrown around a hell of a lot less.

Never said it HAD to be made, Space, but in my opinion, it's better practice that it is.

Mr Abarth, perhaps you would like to tell me why a one day old gangster knows this with perfect certainty, when I know even a lot of leaders aren't completely sure? Sure, say there were gonna til the cows come home, but it takes a damn sight more than the words of said one day old gangster to convince me that that is true. And sometimes, the speech is less about explanations than about convincing people of a certain side of the truth. You don't seem to have any understanding or respect for that.

It might be that for the image of the people involved, the only thing worse than not making a speech, would be making one, because they can't properly justify it. It might be that there are enough people questioning the move to illustrate it's necessity.

This is most certainly not 'End of', and it will not become 'End of' just because you keep repeating it over and over and over.

The end of this matter will be when either, the leaders involved make their speech, or the people calling for one accept that one is not forthcoming.

And you keep telling those people that it's the 'End of' the matter will not make it so. Perhaps someone with authority doing so - that might make a difference. Until then, I fear that this is a dramatic waste of breath for you.

Report Post Tip
Oh it's prolly good practice, that I can not deny, just what bugs me is people think they should know the reasons, people who weren't even involved. As head of a crime organisation. Surely it's best practice to no let everyone know how you conduct any kind of business never mind killing. I still think the only people that need to know are those in the know. Tbh, I I Ida like when there isn't a speech and people guess, assume and point fingers for a reason, IMO, this has a good effect on the community, and breeds certain behaviours that I personally think should be consistent here, just my thoughts though
Report Post Tip

I can see what you mean Space, but this has become very much a public relations society. I think that in a lot of cases, to not give reasons does make leaders look incredibly bad. That's the way things are, I don't know if it's the way they've always been. I suspect not.

Report Post Tip

I honestly think a speech describing why events took place should ALWAYS be made. I think it's completely fucking classless not too, a disrespect to the community as a whole.

Opinions...opinions.
