Occupy: Streets Started by: Ziva on Jan 02, '14 04:05

Ziva, dressed up in her best (and most fearsome looking) camouflage clothing, with warrior like stripes painted on her face, pokes her head out of a tent in the middle of one of Chicago's busiest streets, nearly giving you a heart attack.

'What on earth', you cannot help but wonder, 'is a crew leader doing, sat in a tent, in the middle of the street, in broad daylight? Has she gone mad? Finally taken total leave of her senses, abandoned all logic and reason? Is there some kind of camping party going on? Some kind of special significance to that spot?'.

The young crew leader waves enthusiastically to you, inviting you to come around to the other side of the tent, the side of the entrance facing slightly away from the angle you approached at. As you move around the tent, you note a roaring fire, an assortment of comfortable looking chairs, and a tub of marshmallows ready to be skewered and toasted over the fire. You also notice, hanging from the top of the tent, a picture of the ever beloved Leroy the Bear, taken from the world too soon by a cruel shake of Godly dice. Painted down the side of the tent, you now notice, are the words "We Want Our Leroy Back", in bright red paint.

Ziva motions you, to welcome you to sit down on one of the chairs by the side of the camp fire. As you take a seat, she offers you a marshmallow to toast, before taking one herself, popping a small wooden skewer through it, and holding it over the flames.

Gooood morning there! Having a good day, I trust?

I'm sure you're wondering what a lady like myself is doing, sat out in a tent, at the very start of January, with snow on the ground, no?

I'd be more worried if you weren't, to be honest!

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I have decided that it is time for me to make a stand, and attempt to right what I perceive to be a great wrong in our society today. Many of you, I'm sure, will remember our beloved Leroy the bear. Leroy brightened our days and our day to day routines, he cheered us up, he lifted us, no matter what side of our society you came from. Leroy was something different to all of us, but to him, all of us were friends, persons worth cheering up on those difficult days.

I'm sure also you will remember the pre-Christmas horror of having our beloved bear torn from these shores, and the announcement by Squishy, one of our gods, that Leroy didn't make it, and was taking up a new career as a rug, possibly in our Gods own living room.

We all know here the power of the Gods. We know they can bring the dead back to life. We know there is no limit to their abilities and power.

The demand is simple: raise Leroy from the dead.

I know there may be some kind of fears of Leroy becoming a Jesus-like figure, if raised from the dead. Possibly even fear of him, in that case, becoming a challenge to our own Gods. But let me say this. Leroy is more than a deity. He is a bear, a dancing bear, and nothing shall keep him down!

(Except, of course, Squishy wiping his feet on his lovely fur.)

So, I turn to you. Join my protest. Pitch a tent. Grab a marshmallow. Sing campfire songs with me. Make signs, protest! Show our Gods that we will not just disappear. Show them what Leroy means to us!

Ziva rises from her chair, to take full advantage of the her admittedly rather tiny height.

WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY.

JUSTICE FOR LEROY!

She salutes, a tribute to a fallen comrade, and sits back down.

Ochoa hears Ziva words and says

I also want Leroy back. He made my day just dancing around

Makes a sing saying "We want Leroy back"

Report Post Tip

Ziva offers Ochoa her face paints and a chair.

I quite agree Ochoa. Glad to have you on board! Let me know if you need a hand in pitching a tent up!

Report Post Tip

Puts on the face paint and grabs the Chair.

I can put the tent up by my self.

Ochoa opens the beer case and offers one to Ziva

Report Post Tip

Ziva high fives Ochoa and gratefully accepts the beer, flipping the lid open and taking a long drink from it.

Do you think we should maybe chant a little or something?

Report Post Tip

Ochoa sips from his beer

We should chant.

waits for Ziva to suggest the word

Report Post Tip

Ziva thinks for a moment, before beginning to loudly chant;

LE-ROY-BACK, LE-ROY-BACK, LE-ROY-BACK!

to the chant usually associated with 'USA'.

Report Post Tip

Ochoa starts chanting

LE-ROY-BACK, LE-ROY-BACK, LE-ROY-BACK!

Ochoa is now hopping more people will join in

Report Post Tip
JonnyBeRed notices the crowd, and decides to be a follower, so he walks over to the edge and does whatever everybody else is doing.

Still chanting away, Ziva heads inside her tent for a second, before returning with a paper back, stuffed with white t-shirts.

She pulls one from the back and yanks it over her head, straightening it up to reveal the message, 'We Want Leroy'.

She throws a shirt to each of Ochoa and JonnyBeRed, and begins to bang the drum she'd previously set down by her chair to the beat of the chants.

Jonny puts on the shirt and joins in the chants, all while marching in a small circle.

*a handsome man approaches the tent, leaving his suspicious looking flowers outside before entering the tent*

Good Day Ms. Ziva

I heard about your cause and have decided to pledge my support to this, the most noble of bear causes.

*the man calls forth his assistant who brings him a bag inside which are his finest set of camo's... lumo pink donated by the swagnificent Atrocity (no homo)*

*Before Ms. Ziva has an opportunity to protest the man is decked out in his rather dashing camo uniform*
Report Post Tip

Ochoa puts on the shirts and starts Chanting again

Report Post Tip

Ziva high fives Jonny and Ochoa in their new shirts.

Looking good there guys!

Just out of interest, would anybody be willing to dress in a bear costume? Hammer the point home?

Ziva smiles sweetly.

Numbers4Glory! Good to have you on board fella!

As Numbers4Glory pulls on his pink camo's, Ziva blinks a little.

Swagfellas always did have an... unique and interesting taste in apparel! I'm not sure we have the pink face paint to match though!

Report Post Tip

Ochoa takes out a bear costume from his bag, puts it on and starts dancing

I just need a hat

Report Post Tip

Practically bouncing with excitement, Ziva rushes into her tent, and a little crashing and banging can be heard as she dislodges whatever it is that she might have stored in there; she was clearly in this occupation movement for the long haul. After a couple of minutes, she returns triumphantly with the most magnificent of trilbies in her hand, which she places on Ochoa's head.

Go on there Ochoa!

Ziva, still chanting and resuming her drum beat, begins to dance along a little.

Ochoa Starts dancing and chanting

Report Post Tip

Hoping to draw some new people into the protest, Ziva begins to lead a sort of miniature conga line up the streets, still drumming and chanting away.

Report Post Tip

I used to love nothing more then walking down the streets of Chicago and seeing a dancing bear. Then I may rob a corner store and see the same dancing bear. Sometimes I'd do a drug run and guess what? The same dancing bear. Once I was about to shoot a mobster and I saw this same dancing bear. How can one bear follow me around everywhere? How? Surely not the same bear, what are the chances.

After some research into dancing bears I realised it wasn't real and that I was actually part of a game. This realisation pushed me to create a safe haven for my fellow mobsters away from dancing bears. I have called this place Zion and if anyone wants to join me, please speak with and I'll be sure to give you the red pill. No dancing bears or other stupid things here in Zion.

Desmand puts his black sunglasses back and walks away

Report Post Tips: 2 / Total: $150,000 Tip

Ziva sighs sadly at Desmand. He just didn't get it.

Now, Desmand. This is a terrible case of OOCitis you seem to have come down with! It's a shame that the tiggy bloodline doesn't still walk our shores, she used to have the perfect cure for OOCitis. In her memory, I strongly suggest that you rub some bacon on it. It seems very needed.

However, if you want to harp on about being "part of a game", then go ahead. But surely if this was a game, it'd involve the suspension of disbelief, no? If this was a game, your true self could be eighty, ninety years into the future. But you're still mimicking the mafiosi of the era we currently live in. If disbelief is already suspended, why NOT a dancing bear?

And, how can he follow you everywhere? Cause he's fucking awesome, that's how. Clearly you do not understand how such awesomeness works, my friend. Such a shame.

After some research into people who complain about this kind of movement, I realized that some people are never going to be happy, no matter what you do, and can't take a joke or people relieving boredom. So, with that in mind, I shall designate the Occupy camp as a safe haven from these very boring people. If anybody wants to join, pull up a chair, bring a tent, bring a sign, chant, wear a shirt, have fun!

Ziva puts her sunglasses on and continues chanting, drumming and congaing.
