The Mayor, our amazing friend! Started by: Dallas on Jan 15, '14 16:17

First of all i want to say that only a little part of this idea is based in some changes that will be added down the road. The concept, if im not wrong is new.

That said i want to present the Mayor feature. Nahh im not talking about the taxes thing... Forget that! Behold the new mayor feature!

Every city will now have an public person known as the mayor. This mayor will be our friend and likely at the GF's command. The mayor will be half physical because if the godfathers want he can flew to Delaware and remain there safe as long as wanted.

Now, why keep the mayor away? Because if he dies tot... wait, not now, i will tell later...

The mayor, when in the city will be listed in the 60 secs list, will provide lots of bonuses and will have smaller taxes.

Bonuses:

Drug dealers in the city have the lowest-highest Prices more often, CAs produce more units, DFPs also produce more units, Jails become easier, and the mayor taxes become smaller. Tips also become a little cheaper. If the mayor is in delaware then it doesnt afect anything.

Cons: The mayor can be killed. :)

What happens if he dies? Well, total chaos.

Drug dealers stop selling drugs, CAs wont produce the next shipment of coke and will start randomly arresting its owners for long periods with more than 20 guards. DFPs wont produce the next shipment aswell. Taxes go high as fuck, jails become harder as fuck. All of this for the next 24 hours.

How to protect your mayor? Buying him BGs like the normal ones and reinforcing his house.

FAQs

Why this will inprove the tactics and RP?

First of, in real life mayors are often in the mobsters pockets, second there should be more ways of punish, war or destroy an city. Killing the mayor before an war can makes things easier.

Why 24 hours?

These 24 hours will be the space of time untill the vice takes control. The vice then can be bought to do the same thing as the mayer did.

Why everything gets harder when the mayor dies?

Because like in real life if an mayor dies all the security forces are put in high alert and start searching around for any clues.

How will the godfathers know of anything ralated with the mayor?

Thourgh personals such ''Someone tried to break in the mayor's house'' or ''Someone atempted on the mayor's life''.

Does the prices of Mayor BGs and Forts are the same as the player's ones?

Yes, sure. Why not?

PROS & CONS:

Pros: Lots of bonuses for those who have the balls to keep the mayor in the city, inprovment of RP aspect, another option for advanced tactics, more cash being removed from the game...

Cons: More than one person decide if the mayor stays or fly, Complex coding, money expenses...

How the Decision will work?

There will be an special page for Gfs called city hall. In this page there will an panel containing every information about the mayor that they personaly payed or is not hidden from the players such how many BGs he have, his fortifications, personals and the option to decide if he travels to delaware or not.

Now here comes the trick part, every GF will have the option to send him to DE or travel him back to the city, it needs only one person to click the buttom but since the GFs act together and under meetings and agreements no one will be doing crazy stuff here.

This is a little of my idea, its pretty raw but its basicaly this. Please, feedbacks would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time and sorry for my english, it sucks i know.

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $35,000 Tip

I don't know how feasible this is, especially with the implementation of the districts, but i think it is an interesting idea. I'd love to see a trail of some sort for how this would work.

oop, on second thought, I know how to make it work. Perhaps instead of/in addition to just having a mayor for the entire city, You have an alderman for each district. if used instead of a mayor, the aldermen would do the same thing, but only for the district. if in addition too, then killing an alderman could destabilize a district for say 12 hours, while killing the mayor would destabilize the entire city for 12 hours. You want to knock a whole city out for a full 24 hours, You kill aldermen and mayor.

Overall, well thought through, and a concept that I think could be used to good effect.

HOw do you feel the bonuses might work if the aldermen and mayor were used? perhaps the aldermens death would, instead of stopping the drug trade completely, simply make the numbers less favorable, while the mayors death would shut them down entirely?

Report Post Tip

I agree with the aldermen thing! Great idead you have right there Philli! Oh yeah, total shutdown if the mayor dies and harder transactions if only the alderman dies.

Now, my solution for the bonus to work fine with both mayor and aldermen is to ''split'' its effectiveness. Lets say that theres 3 different set ups in the bonus scale. 0, 0.5 and 1. One means that both mayor and alderman is in town while 0.5 means only one of them is.

I.E.:

If something were to receive a bonus of 100% if both men are in town, then, it only gets 50% if only one of them are. It would work with both bonus and losses.

What you think?
