My Fathers Decision Started by: NotAlone on Jan 21, '14 15:09

Now normally this don't happen, but a lot of questions were left unanswered in a lot of people's minds. Much as the horrid outcry's of Gunna has fallen on deaf ears mind you, there are others that may deserve an explanation.

Let's first start of by saying my father would have loved to have seen the support in which he received in his obituaries. They are kind indeed and thanks to those who had nothing but positives.

So let's begin where it all started, Philly. My father took over a broken city. One of which when he took position had nothing to offer at all. The late Godfather Corky (R.I.P) did what she felt she had to do by going after New York after giving my father the key's to the city with the impression that she was to retire. Setting up in OCD was a challenge to him like no other. Unlike normal auths, he had no alliances, he had no CL funding, he had no reputation. Many, including himself at times, didn't see Philly lasting long at all. It was a challenge he has happy to take on however. In the midst of him setting up, he was approached by Spikes and was asked if he could have someone setup in Bella Vista because he had someone who he promised the district too in the past if it ever became available. Knowing the situation and that a refusal may just be a death sentence, my father agreed. After all he was skating on thin ice without having any sort of support. In attempt to balance things out, he had simply asked for a District within NY as a profitable and fair trade. He was told it would be brought up to the Godfather Council, being assured there shouldn't be an issue and that he would most likely get his request. Those communications stopped, my father heard nothing more about the NY district. Then came along the competitions which soon answered his question. He was stuck in a situation in which now he had someone who was far more powerful then him and had far more allegiances with a more powerful city.

With everything against him, he kept his head up and concentrated only on his Family as he promised them he would. With the fear that Philly was next in line to be demolished, it became almost an impossibility to bring in new members. It was hard for my father to sit back and watch his family work so hard yet see no growth. Knowing it wasn't his fault directly, he still felt as is he was letting his family down. He tried his hardest regardless and kept striving. Doing his best to keep people motivated and working as hard as he could get them too.

Then came the intel, the ranting and raving of one war mongering CL, BTSP. From what my father gathered, BTSP wanted his blood for reasons unknown besides despite toward my father. No valid reasons at all. As my father had come to learn, not only was it toward him, but for the majority of people around him. He would hear constant rumors of BTSP being blood hungry, being unpredictable, and being two faced if you will. These competitions, the ones that "No outside influence would be allowed," the ones setup to allow people to grow showed proof that BTSP was in fact very influential. After all, every time a decision was made, he made it a point to step out and try to defend others actions for them. If they were suppose to be learning to be CL's, why speak for them?

Then my father learned later that Jake was also in talks with BTSP about removing Philly,  in turn having Nine and their fellow friends setup. How accurate these facts are? He was unable to tell me, but my father did let on that the only reason he stayed alive as long as he did was because of the support given by JackRyan and Spikes. Which was also verified by Jake himself, who eventually admitted he did in fact want to shoot my father as well, until he had seen the work my father was putting in. Stating he was doing good things for Philly and was rather impressed given the circumstances.

I would go on with further inquiries but it's neither here nor there. This is about my Father's reasoning as too why he joined the recent war rather then the events leading to them. So let's jump into that.

Waking up too bloodshed my father was contacted by JackRyan asking for assistance in the war, yet Jack being an honorable man also informed my father that it was not expected. That my Father could live a happy life rather then jump into a battle that did not involve him. With a hard decision to make, Wiggle stood by watching, deciding on what to do.

Many people contacted Wiggle to ensure he wasn't jumping into the war, knowing the ties he had with Jack. Which is a fair play of course, it was only expected. Wiggle thought about joining early, but with the way things were going, Jack was fairing just fine on his own. Taking out guns and threats on his own.

In a strategic standpoint, for those who ask, "Why join so late?" Why not? Had Wiggle jumped in at the beginning, his proer's would have been eliminated swiftly. Jack was doing fine on his own.

The plan was simple really, if Jack could hit some big guns, then Wiggle would follow suit, much like the words said by Jake and Solastalgia, "take out a capped gun and we may follow suit." Then came the death of Nine, a future auth for them, with plans of taking Godfather. Things seemed a little brighter in the heat of the moment.

However, my father still sat undecided until he really thought about the situation long and hard. No more Spikes, no more JackRyan, those left behind were those who didn't care whether Wiggle stayed or died. If they were that concerned about Wiggles alliance, they sure didn't show him. During the war, not once did they ask for his assistance, not once did they fill him in or ask for locations or anything that may assist them. Not really a sign of an alliance.

Then came the death of one of Crow's members that he had picked up. My father mass mailed about it requesting something be shown or done. His reply by Philli_Stein pretty much said it all.

***Mass Mail to all Crew Leaders***

Need the WS for Jack-Diamond from The Crows nest.

He was under made and sponsored by a neutral Family. Info would be nice.

Thanks.

To me that reads, No need Wiggle, it came from my family and were not doing shit about it. No money was given to Crow for compensation and no one was penalized for the shot. About an hour later Gauis contacted my father with a request that a crew member he just obtained have his gun removed for he was close to Jack and hadn't been on. My father agreed to do so to show he was in fact neutral in the war. As he went to do so not seconds later they had killed him. A member of my fathers, was gunned down in cold blood for simply finding a home. What does this tell my father? Well for one they didn't trust him even after giving them his word that he would remain out of the situation. After all, in order for that new member to even pro anyone, he would have permit authorization to do so. So their excuse fro shooting him was about as good as KuKus street appearances, pointless and failing to have a valid premise.

This was the overall decision maker. It pushed my father over the limit with the patience he had following the Crow shot. It showed they had no control over their guns which means lack of leadership capabilities during war time scenarios.

"So you destroyed a whole district over an earner proer?" One of the few questions my father was asked. No he did not, he risked a district over a Earner family member. Proer would have meant he had the capability to do so, which he did not. He was shot out of fear, fear that Jack would survive longer then they had wanted. Fear that Jack would take more lives. Fear that their own mistake by not even attempting or having the organization or the respect for Jack to remove him in the first wave, would come back to haunt them.

This lack of respect shown by their forces, with the null en void promises that my father would be left alone was shown to be rather flimsy.

So this is what my father was left with. The statements saying he would be left alone and not gunned down by those in power. The promises he was going to be able to continue to grow in the City in which he loved. Yet, they couldn't show my father any respect during a war time scenario, giving my father only the belief he would not be able to thrive after. All basis on those promises had dwindled in the matter of hours. Why bank everything he had, on the few words of those who had openly admitted they wanted him dead at one point to begin with. Now that the only people who stood up for him gone, what was to hold them back?

Chances weren't in favor of my Fathers life continuing much longer after they accomplished what they had set out to do by eliminating their threats. Also let me remind you, the very reason they did so to begin with was the sadness left behind when their unstable friend BTSP, a danger to the balance as a whole, was eliminated. Their friendship and being left out of the conversation of his take down upset them enough to destroy other districts that gave them what they have to begin with. Especially Ragnorak, being prior RH too Spikes.

So those within those powers want to try and tarnish my Fathers rep when he simply stood up for his family by doing what he thought was right is rather hilarious. Especially when they try to state it was over "Friendship" the very same basic reason they are giving you for their recent take down.

Regardless, he died in peace in knowing he had gone out the way he wanted too, not in his sleep. My father's name will ring loud when mentioned to those who truly knew him, and that is where his legacy will remain.

I understand the reasoning behind what your father did and that he was close to Jack. But believe me when I tell you that while I was alive you and your family would not have been touched. I believe the descendant of Jack can vouch for my honour in that.

I had just got to start to talk to your father and I found him a genuine helpful, friendly man who would do anything for his district and wanted to help the new mobsters under his charge. I will come back to this later.

The unfortunate deaths from Philly that occurred in the cross fire I can only speak for the second one and apologise, it was a war situation and someone who had not been awake for many, many days had come and flown to the same district as Ryan. Were we worried? Yes of course, Jack was a great Mafioso with a fantastic gun and we did not need him protected for another shot.

It was decided that we would ask you to take the gun but in the ensuing chaos that is war someone felt this was too great a risk to take as Jack could get proed at any second. This was a mistake by our side I believe, but after the war had the time come I would have saught your father out and apologised profusely and asked if there was anything I could do to make it up to your family.

That brings us to your attack on my family, your father flew to New York and found my Lhm in Queens, your father killed him in cold blood. Of course this I could not allow and I saw red I must admit. I ordered your families deaths. I am normally a calm, measured man, but when it comes to my family I do get rather angry when someone hurts them.

I believe your father and I are very similar people, we want what is best for our families, we are honourable and loyal. People told me I was crazy and that your father would join and must be eliminated. As I have said I had started to talk to your father and saw a lot of himself in me. So I must admit it did surprise me this attack of your fathers, knowing I would retaliate to my fullest extent and in my craze of losing my LH and very good friend.

This attack brought about for your father exactly what I would not want in the same situation, the destruction of his people. If your father was worried about his family after the war and felt he could not trust the other leaders with not ‘taking them out’ then come to me as an honourable man and we could have sorted this out. If he came to me and asked for a personal duel with the proviso that his family be spared I would have automatically accepted as a man of honour.

Attack me personally all you will, but touch my family and hell will follow.

I hope I have touched on all the points that have been made.

I can certainly relate to what you said at the beginning of your speech. My grandfather built the entire city of Chicago from a tiny, 30 man family, to a 300 man city in a matter of months. Protecting that city was at the top of his list, so I can understand why your father would feel the need to do whatever he could, within his power, to ensure that no harm was to come to anybody in his district.

However, in what you explain as honouring a commitment, and protecting your fathers people, he ended up having everyone he considered family slaughtered. Every member is important in a family, and I would never say that an Earner, or even a Gangster wasn't worth the hassle that they can sometimes bring.

Things can be done to ensure that that Earner's death was not in vain though. As Toy said, if your father had contacted him afterwards, he could've perhaps obtained some compensation, that would then help your member's next of kin make a better life for himself in this thing of ours. Surely this is a better scenario than you stand here with now?

The way I see it, he made a decision, a rash one at that, which ended up with everyone dead. Whether people think it was the right decision or not, doesn't really matter too much.

I will start by saying this, hindsight is wonderful thing. Did you make the right choice, did you make the wrong choice? People can debate that and offer up other ideas all they want. But when it comes down to it the facts are this, there was a lot of bloodshed happening, your father did not know what his fate was to be, a member of your family was attacked after you had taken steps to put them out of commission. If I had have been your father and I was in the same position, well that is the main question. Until that position happens no one knows what they will do, they might have an idea of what they think they should do, or they might have an idea what they will do. But in the end you did what you felt was right for you and your family in that moment.

Did BTSP defend potential moves on Brooklyn or SI? only once.  Jakes plans involved SI, which Cantona, JackRyan and Deadlyspikes objected too not BTSP.  Is it good to believe rumors? no get to know someone better as my father was always polite in mails to you always willing to look for W/S etc even provided The Crow Althea as RH after the fall of SI and Brooklyn.

What actions were defended? A person was shot from -Assassin-'s crew by -Assassin- to be seen as whoring a member of your father? Did BTSP offer logs an opinion to you yes? did BTSP find you were still looking for assassin's death? yes.  Had BTSP seen the same style when your father wanted Paul_Klint gone who offered an alliance that never met your fathers terms? yes.  Going to Spike, BTSP and only unable to find sprozza to shoot at Paul Klint as your gun was not capable.

Then my father learned later that Jake was also in talks with BTSP about removing Philly,  in turn having Nine and their fellow friends setup. How accurate these facts are? My brother Simon was open about the talks regarding your removal, had been a topic that Jake had talked on for a while including the day BTSP died and had come up time and time again.   The difference being BTSP wouldn't commit an act of war that Czylharz never worked together on due to the internal conflicts it would cause.  See BTSP knew people were leaking things out of Czylharz and told Jake and Maple, did any good come of it? no, as he died, and more death came as he predicted.

I will speak but briefly, as I have only one point to speak on. NotAlone, Your fathers perception of the situation regarding my member was based on the facts at hand. Two things to take into account are the war, and my failure to take the time at the time to speak on the matter.

For the first, I will not, and have no reason to, apologize. I was in the process of handling my part of war duties, and was simply busy. Your family has  warred, you know how it is. Sometimes the situation leaves one rushed.

For the second, I do feel I could have spoken better. The message I sent was meant to be informative, no hidden meaning. In the furor of war, Your father took it to mean that action would not be taken. That, I will claim as my failure. Had I spent an extra 30 seconds, and written what I meant, namely "I know that it a member of my family took this shot, I will speak to you in depth when things calm down"  this may have been avoided.

That is my two cents, For what they are worth. I liked your father, and respected his speakings. I was saddened at his entrance to the war, and at his death.
