Telkin had heard rumors that a new change was in effect, but he hadn't gotten around to asking too many questions yet. He wasn't one for asking those too often, he'd rather sit back and figure things out for himself. As he approached the conversation being held by one of his dearest business partner and friend Cantona, Telkin lit a cigarette and soaked in the information. He couldn't help but to chuckle as Cantona brought up the point "should we adopt rules and practices that we had no hand in creating". He too had been thinking along that same line of thought for quite a while now, but hadn't really been too concerned in the aspect of "stolen" contract kills. He agreed with many of the folks who'd stated their sentiments, that the idea of it being "no fair" was highly laughable. Of course there were going to be folks stalking the shadows, looking for a free way to hone their deadly skills. Of course folks were going to bitch about it. Of course the rule was going to kick up some controversy, but Telkin knew that it was a damn good change. It not only made things a little more realistic, but it also showed that the GodFathers of current weren't completely content with the rules of old, and that they were certainly willing to look at each of these rules with an open mindset - allowing change or removal where necessary. Grinning, Telkin nodded in Cantona's direction before he made his way back to the business district in Chicago. |

This is a very interesting change and I definitely agree with it. I am glad to see the current leadership actually make relevant changes that affect us all instead of just maintaining the status quo. |

I was a pretty big fan of this until I had two contracts stolen from me at the exact moment that the scoundrel became old enough to shoot. Having lost two contracts I'm not much of a fan any longer. I do agree if you are off fucking around and forget your target for several minutes you SHOULD lose the contract! But to have to race other hitters to kill your own contract is just wrong. From an RP standpoint it doesn't make much sense either. My boss gives me a contract in my home city/district and I have to compete with other mobsters from cities across the country coming into our city and shooting my contract in my city!?!
Now I'm not one to ever ask or encourage the Gods to do anything, but with this new change it would be nice if they could step in and change the way these contracts are carried out. It would be beneficial to all of us if the contracts taken could be immediately shot, that way, the person that takes out the contract has a better chance of carrying out the contract themselves if they have their guns loaded and aimed at the target. Should the contractor lolly gag around then those out there that are attempting to steal the contracts themselves would have a chance as well. |
