I was roused early this morning, much much earlier than I would like. Going to bed at a sensible hour for the first time in weeks, I was woken at an ungodly hour by my phone ringing off the hook. After about 6 continuous minutes, I realised whoever was phoning me wasn't going to go away, so I answered. It was one of our associates, jabbering excitedly and asking if I'd seen the news, The Las Vegas Sun had printed an unprecedented midnight issue to cover the breaking story. I hung up on him and got dressed as quick as I could, heading to my local paper stand in a state of agitation and, I'll be honest, near total panic. My suit was ruffled, my hair was unruly and the sweat was running down my face and almost blinding me, but I got to that paper stand in double quick time, snatching up the nearest publication covering the news. Holy shit. It was true. Here it was, in black and white. I threw down the paper and, ignoring the cries of a frustrated vendor, ran all the way back to the Cuties HQ, barging into Acute's office. There he was, in a brand new Don suit. Fucking hell. For weeks, nay months, our community has waited has one for Acute to either shoot himself or succumb to an illness caused by his ridiculous obesity, yet today he makes Don, a joyous occasion for those who call Las Vegas home and for Cuties around the world. Acute, my friend, well done. It's a long overdue honour and an achievement, and one that your bloodline is desperately unlucky not to have recorded by now. (In your face MFer) |

Slamming down his cigarette outside the door of the HQ, DCIAC flashes the bodyguard outside the door something from his inner jacket pocket and the bodyguard lets him pass. DCIAC walks right up to Acute and extends a handshake When I heard, I had to come down myself and congratulate you myself. Congratulations my good man. My father spent a long time HQ'd in Las Vegas, and I know he saw a lot of potential here. I am sure that as you are rising towards the highest honor in this thing of ours, you will be doing great things and making us all proud. Releasing the hand shake, DCIAC flips his card high into the air, as is his custom, and it slides gently into the inside jacket pocket of Acute's new Don suit... Give me a call some time when you feeling selling the strategy to how you got where you are! ...but by the time Acute reaches into his pocket to read the card, DCIAC is gone, the HQ door already closed and still, a glint of reflection off his holstered .308 and a puff of smoke from a fresh cigarette the only signs he'd ever been there at all. |

Howard hears the news from a friend of a friend when he was out on one of his daily walks. He had just lit up a cigar. He started joggging back towards his HQ and there he found Acute. "Boss,Boss" Howard panted "Congratulations on the promotion!" He says excitedly! |
