A Day in the Life of a Made Man Started by: Ares on Jan 06, '09 22:10
Ares walks out onto the streets, takes a look around, and proceeds down to the large stone bench in the middle of a small grassy area. Upon taking a seat, Ares opens up a large book labeled "Street Archives". He had found it in one of the oldest parts of the Detroit Library. I guess Marietta had written down transcripts of old speeches, discussions, etc...

As Ares continued to flip through, he found a contest started by Don CommodumPerfectus a while back. It consisted of "A Day in the Life" stories, where a mafioso would give a glimpse into his life for others to see. Ares was filled with inspiration, and began to speak on how his day goes.

Around 5:00 A.M., Ares awakes to the sound of the coal train passing right next to his house. After about 2 minutes of loud screeching noises, Ares falls back asleep, to be awaken 2 hours later by another train. At 7:00-7:30 he gets out of bed, and puts some clothes on. Yes. Ares sleeps in the nude. Get over it. Anyways, Ares gets dressed, walks down the steps of his 2-story Detroit home, and starts fixing himself somem breakfast. Due to the type of job he has, Ares doesn't have to be at "work" at any specific time. He can just show up, work, and leave. The AMPMAG offices are rather apathetic until about 1 day before printing.

He gets out some thinly-sliced strips of ham and begins to fry them. He sits down and turns on the radio, listening for any news. After about 10-15 minutes, Ares eats and gets ready to head out. He puts on his coat, hat, scarf, and marches out the door.

The first place Ares goes is the 7/11. Since Detroit has been overrun with crime ever since Marietta got here, it's relatively easy to rob local businesses. So, he picks a nice little shop just outside of town, and hits it up. Makes about $300, and trots off.

After purchasing some items (newspaper for OBITS, coffee for the boss, etc..) Ares heads over to the HQ. After taking a quick look at the drug price bulletin, Ares packs about 20 lbs. of drugs into his bag and starts to walk off. As he starts to leave, he would usually encounter a new guy.

"Hi."The kid says.

"Hello. How are you today? Is there anything I can do for you?"

"How do I do stuff?"

After a bit of redirection, Ares is able to send the kid off with an updated copy of the Mafia Bible, and can get on his way. He makes sure that his accountant wires the new guy some cash to get started, and drives over to the airport.

Ares steps into the small airport, and looks up at the fares.

"Hmm... It's only $79 to fly to New York. Don Jimmy won't mind me dropping these off there."

After a few moments, Ares walks up to the counter, pays the little guy at the desk, and walks out to the air strip. He boards the plane, and lands in New York in about 10 minutes.

"Hmm... I'll stop by that one bank and make a "forced withdrawal" on my way to the dealer's spot."

Ares walks into the bank, waves around a gun, fires some shots in the ceiling, and requests the funds. The bank affiliate is kind enough to put it nearly $700 in a bag for him. Grabbing the bag, Ares walks out of the bank and off towards downtown.

Ares walks down a few blocks, spots a dealer and sells off his cocaine. He sees if there's any cheap stuff in New York, and decides nothing is here of interest. Ares makes a stop by the Business District, buys a few beers and flies back to Detroit and drives to the AMPMAG HQ. Upon entering, he is encountered again, only this time by fellow associates, English_Gangster and Mafioso.

"Sir, we have the new articles for the next issue."

"Thanks boys, leave em on my desk. I'll look at them tomorrow."

The two italian men scatter, and Ares walks into his office and puts his feet up on his desk. After a bit of dozing off, Ares feels he is done working, and gets home early. He likes to be home early, so he can get some sleep before the trains get him in the morning.

Ares looks around, sees he gathered a few people. He grabs the Street Archives and walks off.

"You can expect more history from me later. This book is grand."

Very interesting insight Ares. I think you should sell some more drugs and find a place away from those trains before they drive you mad.

Well, I must say, that is an interesting day. I can only hope that my future days can be as successful and exciting as yours.
