It was funny though because I always went under SpikeSpiegel, and at one point I died, renaming myself Jet Black (same reference), not knowing about its name's history. That's how I met Izzy.

Don't mean to interrupt the memories here guys, im only new here. But can I ask a question?

So everyone here started out on mafia.org.... then what happened? Mafiareturns was created so you all came here? Ive noticed that .org still exists so this couldnt be called an upgrade, so what caused the riff that got this game created?

I find history like this very interesting, like if we were talking about the game I used to play I could ramble on with my 5 years of memories too. :P

Well in my personal opinion and Im sure most will agree, Mafia.org was once as great maybe even better than here till they decided to change the format of the game.  Once this change occured, I believe thats when MR arose and took its place in the best game ever!

Well, when they started V2, it was a mess. Way too many bugs, and it took forever for them to work it out. One could argue they're still not fixed. As I said earlier in the thread, at one point, I owned  every horse there, and had "trillions" in the bank... The only reason I didn't get on MR sooner is because it was still in a closed beta when I was playing .org's v2. The only reason I came on here actually was because I started playing .org again, and came across it.

Just want to correct a couple of you who commented on the Ganelon war.

It was Ganelon's Amber with Vai (Optimus) and TheThirdDan vs my Fort. (myself, Alley_Kat and Shifty_Bastard)

That's my most memorable moment. Holding Ganelon to a stalemate and then not being able to do anything as Ganelon's Amber 'stole my Fort'.

Oh now that was a good time.

Michael_Brizriole, I believe MafiaReturns was developed after .org closed down. Izzy decided to step down as an admin, and tONYB decided that without him, the game couldn't go on as it was. He and Carcass completely rewrote it into something different, and MR was set up by Mario and FM as a tribute to the original.

tONYB, Carcass, and WrongWay made the new .org... though as far as I know only Carcass is left. MR is definitely better in comparison though .org has some interesting concepts going for it (Church, horse racing, and so on),
but it just doesn't work as well. Way too much jail time, and it has
become too much about betting. Definitely not worth spending time on
now.

Ooh, anyone remember Vindicare Assassin from .org? That guy was pure, unadulterated, awesome.

My favourite mafia.org was something I did myself when the Conceptualists where at large.  I was Capo and managed to kidnap their highly protected money and guns/bullets holder.  He was supposed to have had 15 BG's and a hefty gun lol.  He was a cigtizen called 'missing-link.  I did not know this was their holder but I did go through alot of people to find him :)

I kidnaped him, cleared him out and got almost 3 million in cash (which he was probly waiting for someone to mug of him and wire it into his bank so he didn't rank through tax evasion) also I got exactly 290 bullets and 70 guns.  I think it might have been 72 guns.  Every one of those Concepts mailed around trying to ind out who had him.  Heh, I ended up in a gun fight with them and died.  (Though I did take out a fiar lot of them)

KingCobra becoming someons RHM (I forget who?!?!) and him then proceeding to HQ Wack nearly the entire crew before his CL realised what was happening!

My first ever crew was Ganelon ... great times, I do look back frequently upon .org with nostalgia
