It felt like a eternity, but the days passed and the long awaited one had finally come. Maple called Vash to her head quarters. He hadn't been called there since being told to set up his own head quarters. Hoping what he thought this call meant, he left his place. Outside his black Buick waited and he climbed in. The drive went by quickly and before he knew it he had arrived. He exited the car, then walked into the head quarters slowly, nodding to the body guards posted at all the postern doors. Up the stairs he went and then turned to his right and opened the solid oak door. Totes sat in the chair to Maple's right. A man that usually is nothing but business, but today you could see a smile and the foreshadowing of the news to come. Maple set her glass of wine down and brushed her chestnut hair to the side and began to speak.

"Today is the day Vash. I will be taking God Mother here in the Loop. I will have a meeting with the old man later and he will most likely try to pay me off. One way or the other it will be done."

A smile came over Vash's face as he slicked back his blonde hair and raised his sun glasses above his head.

"You just tell me the time and place to be and you know I will be there. There is nobody in the Loop more deserving than you, Maple, for the position of God Mother. You have worked your ass off since day one with Jake in the Suburbs. After the May war the district was in ruins. You worked harder than anyone to rebuild it and turned into a beacon of prosperity. Since then there have been many leaders who have taken their leave to find their own fortunes elsewhere and many more wars and you find yourself rebuilding yet again. But you are our shining star and the cornerstone to our recovery and rebuilding effort. You were destined to lead, it thrives in your blood and you do it right. I can only say this is the beginning to what The Loop will become."

Vash turned to one of his body guards. His name was Nicholas D Wolfwood. He had hair that was jet black but he called it "raven" and his suit he always wore flared open because he said it had style. Vash handed him a piece of paper.

"Nicholas D. Wolfwood, on that piece of paper is Maple's favorite restaurant. I want that place reserved, not just a table either, I want the whole building reserved for her. Also I want the finest wines ready and invitations sent out to all her closest friends and family. Get it done and have it ready."

Later that evening, a couple muzzle flashes erupted like lightning from the old mans head quarter windows. There was a moment of silence. The doors swung open and Maple gracefully exited the building. 

"Ladies and gentlemen, I give you God Mother Maple of The Loop. Congratulations Maple."

It started off like any other day for Totes. He woke up and climbed out from under the pile of women that had followed him home from the night's activities. He got himself straightened up and headed to Maple's headquarters for another day of helping to oversee the affairs of the Loop. As he walked into his office there was a note waiting for him on the desk.

"Please come to my office as soon as you get in. ~Maple"

Totes threw his jacket in the corner and pulled out a bottle of whiskey from his desk. He took a large swig from the bottle and put it back in the desk. He walked over to a mirror and straightened out his hair. Satisfied that he looks good enough to pass for sober he made his way down the hall to Maple's office. He opened the door and noticed Maple sitting alone behind her desk.

"Come in and sit next to me, Mr. MacGotes.", Maple said.

"Yes, Ma'am", Totes replied. Totes sat in the large chair next to Maple. He took a moment to settle in and waited for Maple finish the paperwork she was working on.

"You're probably wondering why I'm calling you in here, Totes, before you've even had a chance to sober up.", Maple said. Totes had always wondered how she could tell when he was still feeling the effects of the night before no matter how presentable he made himself. "Today is not an ordinary day. I've received a communique that the Godfather of the Loop has an all important business deal he wants to discuss with me. I've kept this bit of business between him and I up until now per his request. Now it's time to conclude our business. I have the opportunity to take over the position of God Mother of the Loop."

Totes' face lights up. "That's wonderful, Maple. This is so well deserved. You have been through so much and accomplished so much more. Yet your work has just begun. You have been an integral part of Chicago's rise to glory under JakeLuciano and now that time and war has taken it's toll on the city it will be you who will spearhead the Loop's return to prominence. I'm very proud to be with you for this momentous achievement."

Maple flashes a smile at Totes before a serious look overtakes her face. "There is one problem we have to overcome, Totes. The Godfather will not leave quietly. He is demanding a large sum of money for his retirement. Of course we don't have to let him retire. There is another way but it includes some risk. Hopefully it can be done surgically and we simply remove the head but there's no telling if others may come."

A mischievous grin comes over Totes' face as he pulls out his chrome Beretta and he cycles a round in the chamber. "My dear Maple, I though you said we had a problem? You know that I and the wonderful people we have here in the Loop will always be behind you no matter what."

Congratulations Maple. This is much overdo and I am extremely excited for you.

You and Vash will make The Loop an amazing district, I can not wait to see what all you can accomplish!

We have known each other for a very long time and I have always been a fan of you, despite the fact that we had some crossroads from time to time I always knew the player you were. Taking Godfather makes me very proud and I am glad to know all of my Maple's 4 Godfather paid off and my hat off to the rest who beat you constantly to get to Godfather!

I have no doubt you will make Loop into something special especially considering I know how special you truly are,

Maple our bloodlines have known each other for quite some time now and I have to say I couldn't be happier than this moment now. It has be so long over due. Working with you has been one of the greatest things I could ask for and I look forward to the future from here on out. You are a good kinda woman with a ton of heart. You will do very well. Congrats hun.

"Congratulations hun, this is an amazing accomplishment. I cant think of a better person for the position than your lovely self."

Raises a glass of beer.

"To Maple! One of the best people I have the pleasure of knowing in this thing of ours."

I've been with you since the very beginning of my career Godmother Maple. You are a truly great leader, the kind that inspires real and lasting loyalty from your members. Anyone who has worked with you knows you are a class act and the great achievements you've accomplished are thoroughly deserved.

This is a momentous day for the Loop and all of Chicago, congratulations!
