Medic walks to the soap box and steps onto it. Folks I am here to address the sins of our world……After a long silence "Medic" continues. People of our fair cities I come before you to say that I have a crush on Marett….Oh crap wrong speech. Ok here it is, People it has occured to me that our lives are full of muggers druggies and people who take the lives of innocent people (ok maybe some are not so innocent) There is one thing I see above all of this as the worst crime … Again Medic takes a small break to compose himself, he is not use to large crowds. ER.. the worst crime I feel is the lending or borrowing of money to other people. Now hold on… let me explain; We all earn for the families that we are in (true) We try to uphold the families honor (true) We work our butts off to look good for the boss (true) We try to gain rank..to what..EARN MORE MONEY..so why would anyone in any family lend money outside your own family circle. Lending to family is fine by me…..but to me it is the worst slap in the face to your Boss if one was to lend money out to someone that is not in your family. To me that is the most “Serious Sin” (other than I have a crush on……...) |

*Sonic walks up to the higher soapbox behind medic* "sometimes there are extinuatig circumstances fot example I have been speaking to alot of people here and have got to know them very well and also if they died I may give there children 100k for them to start up the family buisness in drugs and so forth" "To me this is not slaping you boss in the face as you said he alredy takes his cut, you can donate to him aswell yes but just because a friend of mine has died it doesnt mean I shouldnt give his son some money" *he gets down from the soapbox and sleeps in the corner or ther street* |

Slamming down his cigarette, DCIAC walks up to Medic with his cockneyed smile... Medic, something you seem to not understand is that there is another aspect to lending money to members of other families in this thing of ours. Profit. I personally have donated almost ever dollar I have ever made to my wonderful Crew Leader, but now being of the rank Boss, I need to start thinking about my own well being as well, and I have earned that right. One thing my fathers did, and now I shall start doing as well, is offering loans to middle ranking members of other crews, as well as members in my own crew as well. Say you want another bodyguard because you are paranoid a war may be coming and you want to be prepared. Where do you go? Not to your Crew Leader, and just asking random people in your family or otherwise is looked down upon in this thing of ours. So what you have are a few brave individuals who will lend you money in exchange for its speedy return and some interest. This, from time to time, on a small scale, is how this thing of ours keeps turning, and it works quite well. The last thing I will say is that typically when someone wants to set up any sort of business in their home town, they ask their Crew Leader, so when their Crew Leader okays a loan business, he understands what will be happening. Getting the opportunity to open a business is an honor you earn, and you have therefore earned the right to start profiting for yourself. Turning to leave, DCIAC flips his card towards Medic, having it stick between the boards of the soap box sticking straight up... That's all I really have to say about it. ...But by the time Medic had picked up the card and looked up again, DCIAC was gone, a flash of light from his freshly polished holstered .308 and a puff of smoke from a fresh cigarette the only signs he had ever stood there at all... |

| Come on, buddy. Loans and loansharking have been a part of the mafia since forever. IF someone wants to give a loan, let 'em. If someone wants to pay exorbitant interest rates compounded daily let them. | |

All good points people and reasonable also. I believe maybe then I have been on the wrong end of a few of those loans gone bad so it leaves me with a sore taste in my mouth. But thanks for your veiws on this; keep them coming. |

As DCIAC has already stated, it's an investment. But the investment goes deeper than on a financial level. You're investing in their future. Now, I agree that loaning money out to individuals outside of your family isn't exactly paying respect to your boss. But it's your cash. Now, the question I have is: Is it better to loan money to someone young, and after the money is loaned they decide to join a different family, or is it better to loan to someone you know is in a different family? The latter being your control, the former not in your control. |

All has a good point and it gives me an insights. But for me, it is better to lend money within the family than to other which is not in the family |

Well just yesterday I put this to the test I lent out a little money to someone new as a juster of good will They promtly died / So much for good will and help to those in need. |

I believe there are also many variables. PostMan, did you establish any sort of relationship with this individual? Did you establish a trust? Get them to sign a contract? Or did you just pick a person at random, send them a few thousand dollars, and hope for the best? Recently, I loaned money to a man who died soon after as well. His son promptly came in contact with me, and asked for a loan as well. Something smelled fishy. But in my time with his father, I established a little bit of trust for him. Within hours his son returned both his and his father's loan to me. Weather he is successful in his endeavors or not is beyond my care. My loan is paid for in full. |
