You were right, but you were arguing the wrong thing. Nobody ever said that mobsters can never do business or associate with the police.
Report Post Tip
I knew what I was arguing, just wording it horribly. One day if you get to know me very well like some have, I could say a sentence with the words in the complete wrong way but you'd know exactly what I'm trying to say.

Aftershock shrugs.

Everyone has their problems from time to time.
Report Post Tip
It is simple folks

If one does not include the coppers in on the spoils (bribes) then there is always more for us. Why should we share with the people that can put us away for life.
Report Post Tip
Because chances are if we don't share then they definitely will put us away for life.
Report Post Tip
PostMan, you seemed to miss the whole point of the discussion between Aftershock and myself, and maybe you did not understand the rules you stated yourself in the very beginning. There is a long standing rule in La Cosa Nostra that anyone inducted into the secret society cannot have a blood relative that is a police officer, but there is nothing that says we cannot bribe the police. In fact, we have always done so.
Report Post Tip
"O" I understand the set rules of the family, I would dare to say more than most.

I find bribes always led to more and I just don't like losing the money
Report Post Tip
The state is always trying to keep the ordinary playa down. Nonsense!
Report Post Tip
I myself would sooner just shoot all the coppers myself
Report Post Tip
The blood of a public official screamed louder then his bigot remarks in life. Referring to the late James Hennessy, former police chief of New Orleans. That bloody business bite those compares down south pretty hard. I'd be be careful PostMan. It's one thing when a gangster dies, but when a politician or a police men dies, it's something different.
Report Post Tip
But again PostMan, that plays in with rule #3 right? Morals. Massacring a ton of police doesn't seem too righteous, but again if business calls for it - either way, it will cause more problems in the long run. You gotta pick your battle, and when and where you spread your influence and be ready to pay the consequences.

The exciting discussion has caught the_avenger's attention and after listening for a while decides to put in some of his own opinion regarding the matter.

Yes.It's true that anyone with blood relation with a law enforcer is discouraged to be part of this thing of ours. While its true that having contacts within the police is sometimes needed,it does not and should not go beyond what was needed of them.We use them as what fits our need but it does not make them part of the family. They have sworn to uphold their kind of law while we pledged to uphold ours. Two laws that often collide with each other. So they leave us alone,we leave them alone, they mess with us we make them trash.

And yes perhaps by not calling the speaker with degrading words such as a "fool" we will not find ourselves being talked to in the same manner.

*with that said the_avenger takes his peace.
Report Post Tip
I'd also like to state, it may be a rule to not have blood related family in the mafia and police but that rule probably has been broken more than most think.
Report Post Tip
Yes.And its a sad fact. But still; broken as it maybe, its still written in the rules of this thing of ours. Now it would be up to us if we'll live up to this rules or not.Just like any other rules, they are place there to guide us.Some may break the rules but that does not nullify it.

"i don't believe there would be someone who maintain himself as a full time gangster, you need a decoy or a cover, i don't think you'll be successful wearing no mask at all.. you hide yourself as a businessman most of the time, a policeman and a businessman at the same time is one of the best disguise to cover up your wealth or else surveillance will be around you for your unexplained wealth.

police, cop no matter what you call it, is a great ally, for they are the law enforcer and we are the law breaker, our moral is different from the accepted moral standards of the society, and who will be the one responsible to pick us up is the police, if you don't keep one or two, higher the rank the better, to keep yourself on the outer side of the cold bars..remember even a scared religious practice is not an excuse in the common law of a state. if it is a crime against the common law no matter how sacred it is

it is still a crime..

Keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer

but if everybody is happy you won't have an enemy.

in this world that we have everybody must be happy, from the president down to the lowest officer."
Report Post Tip
Well no one said that my enemies were not the coppers LOL

Maybe it is them I keep close to me.
Report Post Tip
*steps up to the debate*

Well Postman. Other than the 3 you've stated. I too, would have not been allowed in the Mafia or this thing of ours. Rules were so strict that Blacks were considered hoodlums and not worthy to be apart of the Mafia.

Jews as well, because Italians said they couldn't be trusted.

You would have had to been 100% Italian to even get made.
