Slamming down his burnt out cigarette down in on the damp streets of New York, DrTran took a place up on the steps of the apartment building he was staying in... Ladies and Gentlemen of this fine city, if I could have your attention for a moment. I know you may just see me as some other lowly Wise Guy, but hear me out. I know to some people it may seem strange, as it originally did to me, to see so many new auths in Detroit. However, I hope this trend continues in our world at large. This world of ours is a land full of opportunity, and for a time, that opportunity was stifled by having only two crews in each city. Now is the time where good and honorable men and women have a chance to show all of use what they are made of as they get their chance to lead crews of their own. I see so much potential in the auths of the past few days, I propose two challenges to all crew leaders, new and old. The first challenge is to not be too critical of these new auths. Many a time my bloodline has watched as crews suffered insurmountable damage to their reputation which lead to their death, due to some small mistake in the early days of their auth. Yes, by authing them, you have stated to everyone in this thing of ours that you feel they are ready to lead, but no one is perfect. The second challenge is to continue this new way of thinking. By no means am I calling for many random auths around our seven fair cities. What I'm challenging you to do is to look around your HQ, and also look beyond the needs of your family, and see who has leading potential, and see who deserves, or may soon deserve, the right to have a family of his or her own. Remember, you have become respected CLs because of what you have done for this world, and that is why many of you continue to stand the test of time. However, you wouldn't have even had that chance, if it weren't for someone seeing potential in you and giving you that chance to show us all what you can do. Stepping down from the steps, but going away from his custom, DrTran sat on the bottom step and lit a fresh cigarette... I'll be interested to see what you all think! ...and there he sat in the light of the street lamps, taking long drags on his cigarette as he mindlessly spun the cylinder on his freshly polished .308 revolver... |

I suspect Marietta, Guardian and Hypno will have something to say about calling their auths "random", Jimmy too at that. There is nothing random about authing a member to start his own syndicate; and that you declare such suggests to me a lack of knowledge regarding the matter. I agree with your overall thrust, that those worthy should be given their chance, and I don't usually like to pick up on a single point of a speech; but the word 'random' really did irk me, as though these new auths were just names picked from a hat rather than individuals who have, I assume, toiled in their respective HQ's to be afforded this opportunity. As I say though, I do agree that those worthy should be rewarded with a chance, as long as the numbers of criminals that walk our streets can actually justify the construction of more HQ's! |

| KOOP, I did not say the auths were random at all. I said they deserved the honor. I said in my challenge to the CLs that I am NOT calling for random auths, but for auths to those who deserve it. Please take what I say in context. | |

I agree with KOOP there, the people who got auth are in no way random. They've worked hard for it and they deserve this chance. Anyways, back to the topic. Those that are worthy deserve their chance and I hope we'll see that in the future aswell as there are many capapable men and women around. But also it's a matter of population. What I personally find very interesting with all those HQs around is that 'recruitment' becomes an important part for a family. You can't just sit around and wait till the HQ is full with people you like, no, you have to start to recruit. I think that's a very interesting thing. And with that new ideas and also new problemes which need to be solved will appear, I'm a big fan of that. |

The people who are furthering the branches of Detroit's family tree aren't necessarily "auths" in the traditional sense. They are essentially captains to Detroit's 2 figureheads, Hypno and Guardian. They will be answering directly to our two Dons with matters regarding the people underneath them. This wasn't really a display of Detroit's strengths or any such vain thing as that. It's simply this, we have people who have worked hard for us, who deserved more responsibility. Hypno and Guardian's families both act quite fluidly to the point where Marietta felt it was best to see them stretch out into new endeavors. The last thing we want is our guys getting lethargic because we aren't allowing them to really showcase their potential. To my knowledge, none of the Captains that have been put up have ever had their own operations outside of another family's HQ in their bloodlines' histories. It should be a lot of fun. |

| Thomas hit the nail on the head basically, but as to DrTran's challenges. I agree seeing more auths rather than a few makes things more interesting but it's not always necessary, I suppose we'll see how things pan out in future. | |

Thomas may need to consider checking his dearest friend Fu into a clinic The older Captaincy set-up was disbanded a couple months ago, so they have it in title, but sadly aren't as italicized and pretty as ancestor Captains. Now they just look like Digger. Thomas shudders |

KingofOnePercent, I love you on the attack! I go out of my way to annoy you just to see you go on the attack, it's the most beautiful thing in the world. Back to topic, Detroit is heavily populated at the moment and I've heard arguements for and against. I think DrTran has touched on a great point though, whatever your thoughts, if you like it or don't like it, please remember, the gentlemen stepping forward have earned the right and should given every chance to prove themselves. Shakes his head as he watches Jedi run after KingOfOnePercent. Seriously Jedi. That's a mancrush there. When you're throwing around words like beautiful and love...yeah, you have a crush. And there's nothing wrong with that. We all have our man crushes out there. I'm a Philly guy myself. I like those big hairy guys who look like they've had cheesesteak for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Winks at Sal But I digress. The topic is a good one. I appreciate you coming out her and offering the challenge DrTran. I, too, certainly favor crewleaders taking a look around their HQs to find those worthy of the opportunity to lead. And I don't think we'll have to worry about crewleaders choosing at random now or in the future. There's never anything random about who is chosen for the opportunity to lead. I'm glad to see all these new crewleaders around these cities. They are young, motivated, and appear to be ready to take us into the future. But only time will tell. And for all crewleaders - I hope to see you around these streets as often as time permits. |

Hmm, well most words like 'worthy, trust etc' are already said so I'm not going to repeat that. But I think (as a not-playing-this-game-very-long one) that giving people this chance is good, good for the progress of a game. If things like these don't happen, the story would, in the end, break down like 'n old train and than the fun would be gone. Giving new people the chance to do new things makes sure the game keeps going on, the story continues! |

| As you stated and just about everyone that posted, everyone who has been authed has been authed for a reason. They worked just as hard as others who have had the bold suit for months. I am excited to see what the new auths bring, and excited for more to come if that be the case. | |

| i think this is a good thing, you dont see too many new CL's these days, and i think its a nice idea to have some fresh ones come in so we can see what they have to offer to their new crew members. | |
