Is our sanity in question? Started by: Shizzle on Feb 05, '09 09:57
That question struck me last night as I was thinking about our general population. I assume 50% or more of our population are straight up serial killers let alone the amount of thieves roaming these streets. We see it in the headlines every day, 40 some murders every day and 98% of them don't get caught OR the 5400 theft cases that are left unsolved every day. I don't know about you, but I give sympathy out to all the victims who got murdered in their sleep. And I truly feel sorry for the elderly who go out to get their medication and food but only to find people snatching money from their own hands. Makes me think if I should blow my brains out before I ever get old.

Furthermore, I read some documentaries about these serial killers. There are some stories of these criminals killing innocent people for a competition. In one documentary, 2 serial killers made a contest to see who can kill 100 people the fastest. If you ask me, that's f%#$! disturbing -- more of them are existing today. However, we still manage to live through it every day, accepting it. Does this make you wonder, is our sanity in question?

Sure, maybe our sanity is in question. I've watched associates of mine kill many men and women in front of me without batting a single eyelash. By any normal standards that's just sick. Wrong. Illegal.

Yet... did you perhaps think that everyone else has it wrong? We're a group of people who abide by a code of honor, or at least most of us are. There is a simple standard for everyone's way of life: obey the boss. If you are the Boss? Your standard is to make the rules and make sure you enforce them so that your men and women obey. All of this falls into the common goal of making a family's business succeed and profit for all.

Everyone else... all those ladies and gentlemen out there in the 'real' world... do they have the same rules and restrictions we do? They wake up. They kiss their wives and husbands. They work. They take care of the kids. They sleep at night knowing that they will wake up the next day and do the exact same thing as every day before.

We're a lot like them in a way. We do what we have to do. Yet we do it to the extreme. Those murders we commit... they give us an edge. They make life exciting.

And on the flip side of that, we kill, yes, but to preserve our way of life. To protect our businesses. I do feel bad for the odd homeless guy that does get killed, knowing that his life never served a better purpose than to be the newest target for a training hit man, but the rest of society...

They do what they want, when they want, as they please. They don't have strict rules to abide by, they don't have to pay in blood when they deviate from their schedule. And they do it all for personal gain. We do what we have to for family. We have to do everything we do, bearing in mind we have fifty-odd people we have to be aware of when doing business transactions. I would say they certainly have it easier or simpler than we do. The normal public leads a life of freedom.

So we may be sick, twisted weirdo serial-killers, but we're sick twisted weirdo serial-killers who live a life of honor, of family, of loyalty. We don't have time to question sanity.
