A wedding she'll remember.maybe. Started by: Brick_Pollitt on Feb 05, '09 17:35
The announcement came in a lovely cream envelope, the same color as the small piece of paper in side. It was written in crayon. Brick, himself, had written every one, licked the stamp, and mailed them to strangers he'd never met. It read:

Oh, he's the king of stupid,

He was hit in the ass by cupid.

He stumbled to the streets,

In the hopes that he would meet...

Someone as silly as he,

And so he wouldn't let her be.

So last night she went to bed,

and this morning she was wed.

It was to be the wedding of the century. The only problem: the bride didn't know it was going to be a wedding. And needless to say, she certainly wasn't aware it was to be HER wedding. "No matter, small detail." Brick thought to himself as he tried on his tuxedo.

He had asked her to marry him a dozen times; each time met with a chuckle and a gag. And each time he thought: "she must really find me funny," and "I hope she gets over that choking problem." So, Brick persisted. "What a great sense of humor." Just another great quality that drew Brick to Ms. Phoenix. That's how he knew her as - Ms. Phoenix. "What is her first name?" He wondered. "No matter, small detail." He thought to himself as he arrived at the church.

He was nervous as he waited for Ms. Phoenix at the front of the church. When she was rolled in on that rolling bed he thought nothing of it and just smiled at her in her beautiful white gown. "She's so beautiful when she sleeps." He muttered to himself. Just another quality that drew Brick to spend countless nights breaking into her house to watch her sleeping. "But why is she sleeping now?" He wondered. "No matter, small detail." He thought as he said "I Do" for Ms. Phoenix.

And so it came to pass that the self-proclaimed King of Stupid Poems wed his Mafia Princess NikkiPhoenix. An ordained minister presided over the ceremony so it was all very legal-like. NikkiPhoenix even signed the marriage certificate...last week...when she thought she was signing to be the beneficiary of Brick's estate upon his death. But that's beside the point. She signed it. It's valid. It was witnessed and everything.

One of the questions from the crowd interrupted the celebration. "How do you overcome the restraining order?" To which I replied: A valid marriage after the filing of the restraining order makes the order null and void. And then I continued to celebrate, still waiting for Nikki to wake up and enjoy the day.

So, welcome ladies and gentlemen, to the wedding of the century. Come eat, come drink, and come be merry.

The headache was like nothing she'd experienced before. And the pounding!? It was as if someone was practicing the tympani right beside her ears, and doing a poor job at their lessons. Nikki reached up to put her hands over her ears, but only after they'd raised mere inches off the mattress, she felt something hold her down. Her eyes snapped open and focused on the scene: There she was in her white nightgown, bound to an unfamiliar bed with leather straps holding down her extremities. It alarmed her deeply. Not that she wasn't used to being strapped down on an unfamiliar bed; in fact many of her Thursday nights began that way. Its just that she never woke up in such a condition.

And why the hell was everyone looking over her and saying congratulations. Oh Jesus... Was she in Tijuana again?

He noticed as soon as her eyes opened, and leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He left her "restrained" while he kissed her for fear that she might strike him in all the excitement.

We did it, love. We're married.

He undid her "restraints" and showed her their matching rings.

What do you think?

She looked at the piece of twine that had been tied to her ring finger and wondered momentarily if she'd forgotten something that she was supposed to remember. Then Nikki realized that the twine wasn't there as a helpful reminder, but rather a symbol of the apparently completed nuptuals. Everyone around was dressed in black tie, save for Brick's brother, who wore a blue denim leisure suit with a bold pink tie. Nikki looked to Brick with alarm painted on her face. She hoped the bad taste wasn't hereditary.

Married? But... Wait? Are we in Vegas?

The idea did seem to have a certain charm to it, and though she was groggy, she had to admit it was much better than last time when she was hit over the top of the head and woke up three weeks later in Tijuana. That... that was nightmarish.

But.. I didn't even get to say I DO!?
