I watched the car sink in the Philly river, I loved Philly, it seemed a shame to mark it with something so distasteful, but I knew I couldn't do this back home in New York. I had a real family now, and I wouldn't have them feelin' the heat for this. I have some morals you know. I stood on the shore in my ex husbands pinstipe suit, a pair of suspenders, a nice pressed white shirt, and a Fedora. The fedora not only looked good but it hid my long thick hair, which I couldn't bring myself to cut. Yeah, I know, I dress like a real fox. A bit of a girly one maybe, but most people have learned not to mention it. I've broken quite a few fingers over it. Yeah, I'm a woman who dresses in mens clothing, that doesn't mean you can judge me on it. Well I suppose you could, but I'd remember what I said about some broken fingers and keep your thoughts to yourself. I a take a long drag from my smoke then toss it into the river to follow the car that was no longer visible. I turned and walked down the streetm back towards my hotel room. I heard a passing man make a derogatory comment on my dark skin, but let it slide. I wasn't in the mood to make him apologise. I was tired, and a little home sick, although I only flew out earlier today. I needed to get a few hours sleep before I caught the plane home in four hours. I Stepped out of the air port and onto the bustling streets of New York. It was good to be home, and the weight that I'd taken off my shoulders in Philly, made me feel even better. I was ready to get back to work. ((Sorry if my roleplaying style isnt what you guys are used to,I kinda picture it film noir exsque. If Its too much of a problem, I'll change it in the future.)) |
