"We're at war with an invisible enemy! How the fuck are we supposed to shoot what we cannot even see?" (BG 1) Dalton nodded slowly, reloading His weapon as He heard multiple shots fired in rapid succession outside in the street. "Keep firing...I'll figure out something." (Dalton) "This is getting old, and wasting a ton of ammo....just sayin." (BG 2) They could barely see the muzzle flashes from the shadows, but shot towards them, hoping to get lucky. The Durdens returned fire with uncanny accuracy, shattering glass and splintering wood uncomfortably close to their heads. Dalton fired into the darkness one more time, emptying His weapon as He heard the occasional yelp of pain. He was tired of shooting blind and relying on luck. They needed inside information to turn the tide. "Hold them off. Keep them busy. I'll be back, soon as I can." (Dalton)
Dalton stopped at Headquarters first to confer His multi-tier plan to the Hit Squad Leader. Eager to try just about anything at this point, the HSL sent out several squads of scouts, dressed in plain clothes to do nothing but watch for Durdens and scour the Queens neighborhoods. The Durdens may be a pain in the ass, but they never shot at innocents, so they would use that to their favor. The second tier of this plan was to share information with several other Crews and Families in NY, maximizing what they already had at their disposal. Someone always had access to good information, and there was friendly competition between the different districts for quick access to this invaluable information. The third tier of His plan was a bit more personal, and could be a bit time consuming, but completely worth it in the end. Planning for those worst case scenarios when they couldn't get the information easily, Dalton looked up an old friend on the outskirts of Queens.
The crunch of gravel under the car tires echoed slightly off the looming abandoned warehouses, all but forgotten on the outskirts of Queen's industrial area. Dalton checked His weapon before stepping out, closing the car door as quietly as He could, listening for any sounds in the almost maddening silence of this gloomy, derelict place. |

"Seriously??...He just up and leaves us here as cannon fodder..." (BG 1) BG #2 stopped firing and slipped a booklet out of his pocket, leafing through the pages before stopping and mumbling something under his breath. "Not sure if prayer will help us now bro..." (BG 1) BG #2 looked up from the booklet and smirked slightly as he held it up. "Not prayin...this is the job description. Page 3, line 12, subsection 3, fine print, 'to be used as cannon fodder as needed'..." (BG 2) BG #1 scowled and continued firing, ducking shards of glass and woodchips as the unending wave of Durdens fired back, over and over. "Of course....I always get fucked by the fine print." (BG 1) |

"Umm....what the fuck are we supposed to be doing again?" (Scout 1) Scout #2 rolled her eyes and smacked Scout #1 in the arm. "We're supposed to walk around, all inconspicuous like and look for Durdens...dumbass..." (Scout 2) Scout #1's eyes narrowed slightly, squinting into the dark alley they were passing. "Ohhhh....I think I see one! Wait.....no....that's a cat, not a Durden. What do Durden's look like again?" Scout #2 growled under her breath and smacked Scout #1 on the arm again, harder this time. "They are wearing birthday hats....kinda hard to miss..." (Scout 2) |

"Excuse us Sir. We were asked to come ask if you were willing to share information on the Durdens that are currently plaguing the city." (Envoy 1) Cantillon gestured toward His desk as He sauntered across the room to mix a drink. "Aye! Go right ahead. List is on the desk there." (Cantillon) Envoy #1 nudged Envoy #2 towards the desk to grab the list. "Umm, Sir? This isn't a list of Durdens...." (Envoy 2) Cantillon chuckles briefly as He looks back toward the dumbfounded Envoys with a wink. "I'm sure if you check the centerfold, you'll find everything you need." (Cantillon) |

The large warehouse door groaned as Dalton edged His way through, keeping His sidearm pointing constantly in the direction He was looking. Barely a sound was heard through the old place ad Dalton was beginning to think the oldtimer had moved on. He slowly advanced, knowing He had to watch for traps as well, scanning the floor carefully as He took calculated steps forward into the depths of the overgrown metal graveyard. Several large cylinders hung from the ceiling up ahead and Dalton kept a close eye on them as well, making His slow advance into the rear of the building. He whipped around quickly as He heard a sharp metal "CLANG" on the other side of an abandoned freight container. He stood there, waiting with His weapon covering the area, surveying everything He could see. |

"Ok, I'm out of ammo...Did you bring more?" (BG 1) BG #2 scowled as he fired two more rounds out the demolished window. "You were supposed to bring the extra ammo....remember? We rolled for it this morning." (BG 2) BG #1 looked over towards BG #2 with a puzzled look on his face. "I thought we were rolling on who got to shower first!....Now you tell Me." (BG 1) BG #2 facepalms before shaking his head slowly. "Well, we're fucked unless you can find some. Go check the back." (BG 2) |

"Alright! I definitely found a Durden this time!!" (Scout 1) Scout #2 turned slowly, not quite sure what to expect as she heard screaming and crying behind her. "No......no, you managed to capture some poor kid at his birthday party....bravo dumbass." (Scout 2) Scout #1 reluctantly let go of the kids arm, letting him run back towards his house as quick as his legs could carry him. "Ok...so the birthday hat and watergun threw me off....sue me." (Scout 1) |

"Will you stop looking at the pictures!" (Envoy 1) Envoy #2 looks up slightly, grinning. "I'm just un-sticking the pages, honest!" (Envoy 2) Envoy #1 arches a brow. "Sticky pages? Really? (Envoy 1) Envoy #2 looks back down as he runs his finger across a page, licking his finger with a curious look on his face. "Mhm...I think its mayonaise..." (Envoy 2) |

Finding Dalton stood on a street corner rambling away to himself, BadNewsBarrett chuckled. The man was clearly insane. It surely wasn't even worth bothering to deliver that piece of bad news to him. Still chuckling, he walked away, keeping a safe distance from Dalton; one never knows what else a man who stands on street corners talking away to himself is capable of. |
