It's all about choice, the path we choose. I believe we don't have that choice anymore I believe it's taken away from us by the majority not believing, contributing or even just thinking that people will laugh at them if they even try to have a go at roleplay. It's all true I have seen it first hand.
-[brainstorm]- Path we choose - Roleplay/Tactics Real New Accounts have a symbol Each rank game gives a choice Street threads look different Break down on the stealth stat stealth associates Roleplay/Tactics based Bodyguards believe in what you say so they join you
When someone joins MafiaReturns.com what do they first see when communication is finally introduced by another player? More than likely a normal out of game interation with another player or a copy and pasted re-used piece that has been seen so much, the same people are seeing it twice or thrice when they make new characters.
Now that is all fine and well for a lot of people but I'm sick of it and I've tried every arsenal in my inventory to try and change it but it seems I have one more and this is it...
I hope to call upon all roleplayers and non roleplayers and hope that they can give me some of their time and attention, I'm going to give this thread to all of YOU to change it up and down, inside out and all around. I'm just providing my initial thoughts and if you wish to see that or think you could add subtract to make it sound better then please be my guest and post...
When a new player has finally chosen their answers and made their account they now see the game screen... I think we should have a little pop up greating them... IT's a wealthy looking man, he has approached you to ask you a few questions,
Wealthy Man -
...adding another 4 or 5 questions which we can discuss and develop in here...
There is no wrong answer but each answer will take you down a different route with different multiple answers. The answers will lead you down two different paths which for now I'm calling 'The Technicals Path' & 'The Roleplay Path'
If you choose this path your stats like info and stealth will be decided on how well you perform tasks like petty crimes, felony crimes, organised crimes and other such features. Your statistics will grow in that way to develop your character into what most roleplayed gamers would call a 'Tank' and you will be able to particapate in the roleplaying like usual and gain benefits like you normally would do. The Technicals will still need to utilise the skills that a 'Roleplayer' has in order to best achieve your results.
If you take this path you will be able to perform the same tasks as the 'Technicals' but not gain the same as they would doing them, instead you would gain your stats a lot more for particapation in Mobmails, Street threads, Bar threads, in turn your character would have a lot of unique skills not as easily available to 'Tecnicals' but you would be benefit a lot by working with 'Technials' in your family to achieve the best results.
So we have 'Technicals' & 'Roleplayers' both taking different paths but having to work together as one to benefit fully.
Wacking I'll start off with wacking, touchy subject, though good for all to practice, the 'Technicals' will easier accomplish the art, they will gain statistics easier and more fluently. Each kill they have will stack up nicely and on the other hand the 'Roleplayer' will need twice as much to equal what the 'Technicals' has already accomplished.
Defence 'Roleplayers' will gain this effect a lot better, not only will bodyguards work for these people for a lot less in cash, but their original defence will be able to be maintained to a higher level than that of the 'Technicals'.
Stealth 'Technicals' will be able to raise this stat as they rank. 'Roleplayers' will not be able to raise this stat but they will have some mainly what they started with.
Info 'Roleplayers' will have bountiful amounts of this, it will come easily to them depending on how much they put into their craft. 'Technicals' will have to work twice as hard to gain in this skill and to maintain their levels in it.
Thes rest of the skills can be discussed here, on who should gain and beneifit more from each but I think you can see where I'm coming from now and the great things that could be accomplished.
Example...
I choose roleplaying character, I post a lot, I make lots of threads and my crewleader is a Tank-like character he will need my info skills and can count on my defence for the up and coming war. I've worked doubly hard on my wack stat, my leader just died and I became a great roleplaying crewleader and have defence/info and wacking.
I choose a 'Technicals' character, I've easily built a gun and got my own family, I won't be letting any roleplayers rise above me to greatness, they will feel the great power of my gun and I can rule with an iron fist.
Ok so I could have had better well thought out example but it's for all of us to use our imagination and make what we can of this idea. It's a stepping stool leading up to a bigger and better suggestion that everyone could agree with and come to enjoy and want implemented.
Bodyguards believing your word... When a 'Roleplayer' posts a bodyguard may over-hear your words and decide he would like to work for you. You can accept him to come to you.
Bodyguard believing in your gun... When a 'Technicals' has a certain amount of kills a bodyguard can believe in their gun and want to work for them...
The initial idea is about giving people choice and also letting them intertwine as players, having to work together for the betterment of their family.
Newcomers When a newcomer arrives and they choose the 'Technicals' route then 'Technicals' sponsers will see that newcomer first and for say 30 minutes and they will have the first chance at approaching those people and vice versa for the 'Roleplayers'.
They will begin with a stamp 'Technicals Stamp' or 'Roleplayers Stamp' to show their valued craft. ?
I hope you all have enjoyed reading my idea, I look forward to everyones opinions. |

I like the idea of REAL "new" players getting a profile symbol or something. I'm tired of having to ask EVERYONE if they're new to the game when recruiting, only to get smart remarks because I don't know their bloodline, or not being answered. If I'm going to try to recruit someone and I see or don't see the symbol, I'll be able to know how to approach them. That first message is a very important one.
+1 to the new player symbol |
