| Being remembered. | Started by: Sal_Giaquinto on Feb 07, '09 14:39 |

It was a quiet day for The city of brotherly love and even-more so for the boys and girls of Cherry Street. Their king sat in his favorite lounge chair comfortable by the fireplace - a rocks glass of Canadian whiskey in one hand, the tribune in another. His closest friends and associates nearby, quiet times such as these breed philosophical questions about life, ultimately what was next for him and This Thing. He pondered how he wanted to be remembered. After visualizing the possiblies, he wanted to share the moment with another, he leaned forward and called out a friend who then came over and sat in an adjacent chair, equally comfortable - promoting the periodic philosophy needed to quench the thirst of human curosity. "Years from now - how do you want to be remembered, by your children - your friends, and ultimately in the history books? How do you want to be remembered...?" Others overheard the prompt and began to entertain the thought. |

Hearing the question Paul thinks to himself. I too ponder on this simple yet complex question. I would like to be remember as a friend to all the members of my family. A man that did the best he could with what he had. It would be great for my grand children to hear thet I was a standup guy. Above board guy who gave and was was respected by not just his own family but all the families. Yeah respected and feared if you crossed him! A man that would show love and mercy if you respected this thing of ours. Paul thoughts are interupted by the bartender A glass on jack daniels please! |

Stapled hears Sal's words and has a long hard think about how he would like his time on these streets to be remembered Well throughout my time here as well as my bloodline in the past, we have always been the "worker bees" of whomever we served for. Loyalty and dedication to the cause is something I value quiet strongly. Now that I have a headquarter of my own I would like to be remembered as a hard-working leader. I want to encourage people to interact with eachother, help eachother and earn well. So if my experiences in this world can help with new arrivals then I will be happy to be remembered for that mainly. He stays around to listen to fellow mafioso's opinions |

We are not to choose how we are remembered, it's all about the people around you, you could be the best mobster ever to walk the streets, you could be remembered as that by some people, but for others, who were jealous, you would be remembered as an arse, power hungry, war monger who had no friends.. If I could choose, I couldn't actually care how I am remembered, as long as I am always known as "that guy who never betrayed his family", I'll leave the rest of the story to everyone else. I remember a lot of old mobsters from the past, like Ellis, UncleNicky, SteelDawn, MrBurns, SamTheAmericanEagle..Dark Phoenix..etc..thery are all remembered for their own abilities, but with that, their abilities didn't satisfy everyone, we all have our friends and enemies, so within those two categories, you will get two totally different responses when you are remembered..if that makes sense.. :-/ |

Draven ponders Sal's question and hears all the wise words from the other. Frankie you are correct in saying we can not chose how we are remembered, but I think we can always hope to be remembered as something. I think personally I would like to be remembered as someone that helped others learn or maybe touched their lives by helping them out in someway. Even if I accomplished this and was not remembered for it though I'd still be very happy with my results in this thing of ours. Because it isn't always about what people see you do, but it's about the things you know you do. |

"Because it isn't always about what people see you do, but it's about the things you know you do." An inspiring message in which I hope many people soon learn to follow. |

Emerging from a shadow behind Sal's chair and placing a hand on his shoulder, Sean Connery speaks in a heavy accent Personally I find it, a grave marked only with your name, rest in peace and the word Soldier is quite the finest mark you can get, my friend. Rank does not bother the dead. What they did to deserve it might. Those who can understand that mark, will. Those who cannot, you should not bother with. What's the point in having six billion men and women remember a name if all they recall is "dead guy"... or "Tyrant" as so many infamous people that are now deceased have been written down as? |

Maxie stood nearby and pondered the question for a long time before she answered. I prefer not to be remembered, but if I am I'd like it to be as the unidentified assailant who stole wallets. Being an anonymous face in the crowd is the best gift I think I can give to my descendants. They won't have a reputation to live up to or overcome. |
