pulling up beside you, you get pushed out the way by three, tall men dressed in black pin striped suits holding AK's and a baseball bat, looking in wonder, you watch a young man slowly rise from the armoured truck.. The young man slowly walks past you, giving you a slight smile and a nod.. as you take a closer look, you see it's Frankie Gogolak, as you begin to slightly laugh at the ordeal of his entrance, Frankie grabs you and warns you to mind you step Wow..my family line grew up on these streets many years ago, my great, great, great..etc..grandfather was 15 when he first tried out for the mafia, that was 7 years ago, and judging by his journal, not a lot has changed..a lot of the same faces, same rules..but there is just one thing that saddens me.. That is the fact that it needs constant reminder that freshly homeless Mafiosos that have recently lost their leader are not to be touched.. It's depressing that in this world, after all these years, this rule still isn't clear enough that this reminder is no longer needed. Looks over the crowd and watches as two young mafioso's begin to bitch about the speech.. OI ! YOU!! I'll have you know that I am not the only one who is sick and tired of this rule constantly being spread across our streets, don't get me wrong, I am not disrespecting the people who take time away from their work to remind us, but I just feel it's time we should all know this rule without having reminders.. Lets not forget, the "Mafia" isn't about seeing how many people you can kill in one sitting, or sitting back on your arse, waiting for another family to fall so you can pick up on the helpless homeless, it's about making money, being their for #1, sticking to your guns and impressing the one person who matters, this all narrows down to your leader and the godparent of that city, your kill list doesn't impress anyone if it's illegal kills, the only person you impress is yourself, and if that's all what matters to you, then, meh...what the hell are you doing here? If you are here for your own personal gain, then go join your own crime syndicate stealing cars or mugging old grannies, in this world, it's not about you, it's about your family, if you put yourself first, then quit this life and move onto somewhere else, because your not wanted here. Imagine your leader was gunned down in their prime...would you not want the time to seek new shelter? Frankie's temper slowly gets shorter and he his pulled away by his bodyguards |

If my leader falls I expect to die. I'm loyal to my family when we take the oath we say we will never betray the family we will not leave the family. So why would I join up another family if my family leader has died? I still have family around so I fight till I die. Now if my leader dies of natural causes then to be fair the Underboss should automaticlly be allowed to step up in his place and take over but we all know that's not always allowed. Even if the leader is killed by someone else the Underboss should be allowed to step up. Its how it really is in the real world. Then a peace can be brought to the fighting families. This being what it is and sometimes some traditions do not get passed down as quickly as others so some new mafioso may not have ever been told about the rule that no newly unsponsored person is not to be touched. Some traditions need a makeover as well and some new ones need to be brought to the table. |

I'm loyal to my family when we take the oath we say we will never betray the family" With that being said sir, I am loyal to my family, I choose them over anyone, but if someone was to kill my leader, than I would want to be around to take revenge..would me taking the offer to join another family till I was strong enough make me disloyal or smart? |

You joining another family and taking wanting to take revenge later could put the family you join up with in danger. What if that family doesn't want to take revenge or allow you to take revenge? I stay loyal and do what I can while I'm alive. Besides we all know that it very seldom that any high ranker is allowed to live anyway. |

| I stay loyal to the family I joined when I was young and fresh, if I have to join another family in order to make myself strong enough to take revenge on the person who killed my leader, then so be it..I'm not expecting them to comply with my plans, but then, setting up an un-authed family isn't exactly rocket science. | |

Isn't that the point, Frankie, as to why individuals whose leader dies in a war should NOT be permitted to live to join another family? Because they think exactly that way. They think about and do everything in their power to seek revenge. To the detriment of their new family. So, by living for the purpose of seeking revenge, you are living a life for yourself. While this topic is not new, and the rule is the rule - I think you've proven why there are those that believe there should not be the rule. |

Brick_Pollitt I am not debating weather the rule should be there or not, the fact is, the rule is there, and it has been for many years, the point being that every time a mafia leader falls, a speech is made stating claim that any former members which are killed will be punished, a rule that, by now, should be in everyone's mind without the reminder. I'm not saying that all former members would seek revenge, I'm not saying I would either, I was merely making a point to James Stewart that former members who go on to join another family after their leader falls are not classed as disloyal, I realise I have put a bad spin on the topic, but I didn't mean it in the way it came out. |
