Another Empty Speech Louis Gato shuffles through the crowds, his bodyguard staying close. Other than the two of them, he approached the soap box alone, unable to find his brother, Sal, or Carmine. Probably both back at the bar, lazy bastards. Coughing slightly, he held up a recent article, then without so much as addressing the people, set it on fire "My fellow citizens! How many of you know me? A few, outside of the organisation that I work in? Any hands, one, two?" "Well good, lets keep it that way. For now, anyway. See I, like three other HQ owners in Detroit, am but a simple captain, and I follow the orders from higher up the chain of command, I do not have any changes to announce, I do not have any plans for the city, none I would openly share anyway, and I do not make myself that well known, I am the first of my family line here, anyway. What do I do? I spend my days talking to newcomers to these shores, most of which never join my crew, but they know how to make a living, and have reason not to fall asleep on the streets for 7 days. " Louis lit up, breaking his 12 days without smoking, then gesturing with his hand sending ash fluttering onto the shoulders of his bodyguard "Have I got anything to say? Nope, just making an appearance, showing my face in the streets. This personally, is something I would not appreciate, as anyone can jump onto a soap box and say 'Hi, hows people?' I would rather they wait until they have something to say before coming out here and turning heads." "I once knew a young lady called Mirage, I spoke with her, apologised for never meeting her mother, and whenever I saw her face I'd meet it with a smile and a how-you-doing" "So if anyone else feels they want to run off and print slander, just because their mummy was a bitch and got stomped out of the city, I say this. Go ahead! Be my guest, but I spend my time doing favours for people who in turn pay me back, and such a move will never be forgotten." |
