Hello so i was skimming through a few game suggestions and one set off a little light bulb in my head and I wanted to see if any of you would support it and what yall thought

Identifying New People: When trying to recruit people I do often get annoyed by asking the same question a billion times (ontop of the who's bloodline are you) But the standard question when recruiting is 

-Are you new to this world? 

-Are you new to MafiaReturns?

-Are you looking to join the life of crime?

Well what about by-passing that question. Not out of shear laziness but in way to flag these newcomers to our world so we as a community can see to it that these fresh little fishes get the much deserved attention and treatment that they need. In order to try and keep them within our world.

Im not even suggesting that only for recruiting them into a specific family but even so after say 48-hrs that everyone knows the are a new person and people will offer out a hand in friend ship and seeing that they are being trained and looked after properly no matter what family.... It wouldn't be trying to step on anyone toes suggesting that their leadership or whatever is in question but i mean i know first hand there are some shitty sponsors out there and sometimes people just fall into cracks and forgotten about not trained and not spoken to even by their own CL ( I mean some Cl's get swamped and dont have time to speak to everyone )

What I am suggesting is sort of like in the real world when you go to a plant/Oil-Rig/Construction Site they slap a NICE SHINY GREEN HAT on ya if your new that way everyone can look out for your safety, keep an eye out for you and see that you succeed and keep your job/life

We are a community of some awesome people lets show that to the new people that pop up, and make them WANT to stay, because face it we need more people here....more people to stick around, not see them phase out in a week because none of us said "Hi how are you doing, are you finding everything ok? Need a pal? I'll be glad to help you learn a few basics" (or nudge your sponsor to check up on you) 

What do I suggest? 

How about something like this. When you Register/Start A new account AT THE VERY TOP in big ol' block letters I suggest adding something saying

["HI! New to MafiaReturns? For the BEST experience if this is your FIRST time playing (or you havent been around in ages) please make sure the box below you is checked YES!!!]

then a big box with YES checked by default and then a box below it you can also check stating [No, I am a returning player]

maybe beside that a small box saying "Don't ask me again" <---and it will keep the answer auto checked on NO.

What would this do?

When you log into the world as a first time person you will see the tutorial and all that good stuff like normal to help you out. 

The change im wondering if you guys would like is with their name on the 60sec list, The name is highlighted (what ever noob alerting color stands out maybe green haha) but for the first 48hrs or however long the background on their name will be highlighted kinda similar to VIP status in the streets.

I really don't see any short comings to this at all I can only see it being help full to them and to us as a community in trying harder to keep these new people here on our shores. I plead with you all to think about this. 

What about those who wish to be incog as a new bloodline is the only question I can see. Well then click yes and highlight your name >.> but I am really wanting to see this only used by the New people or Returning Newish players  to help them and our community! Thoughts? Ideas? Im all ears! Please voice you opinion!

I think this is a fantastic idea!

I remember when i first joined, not all that long ago i was quickly picked up by a great man called Tither.

he was a crew leader at the time and recruited me himself, he oversaw my training personally and regularly checked in with me to see how i was doing and answer any questions. In time and with his guidance i soon became familiar with the concept of the game and how things work. but i can say with a high level of certainty that without his help and his support i would not of stayed here for long. this is not the easiest nor simplest game to work out if your doing it alone.

So yeah, i am 100% behind this idea!

Nello I belive your mistaken this only removes the doubt of Knowing if they are new or not (If they keep it checked yes)

This in turn won't stop communication on the opposite though because I dam sure will contact them and talk to them even if they end up in another family I will still offer my friendship and try my dam hardest to keep them here. 

Yeah I know some of you may be thinking from a rp stance people wouldn't approach if you where a new goomba in the real mob. 

sure but this is going behind that to nail down more people to freaking stay! 

It doesn't remove the need for conversation, if anything it increases the need.

By identifying the players brand new to this world it puts us all in the position to be able to make a warm and friendly impression and offer guidance, which encourages us to make that step instead of assuming they are the child of a well versed player and just start the recruiting speel with no introductions to this world

I am not trying to take away any conversation at all, and this is not to help us but only in one way and that is to help our community grow!!! This is largely to help the NEW PEOPLE coming to these shores.

You may look at the very bottom and not give it a second thought, you may even click one of the names to see if they have a sponsor if they do noone else ever messages them other then if they dont have a sponsor. I know its a sponsors responsibility to keep them involved and try to train them and blah blah blah... but it is NOT the new peoples fault if they get picked up by some sucky ass sponsor who dose not speak to them or train them beyond that point. I've even been in families as a NEW INCOG and after I joined the family I was not even talked to by anyone in the family for well over a week! In that time if I was brand new I may have gotten bored of disheartened by the game because I was not full understanding what to do... but I was lucky back in 2005 that there were a few select people that got me to stay and involved....what if you see something alittle different?

Maybe a different color but the color dosent matter ( or maybe it does?) BUT.... When you lucking at the 60sec list are you not compelled on the inside to be like "OHHHHHH LOOKY SOMEONE NEW! I WOULD LOVE TO MESSAGE THEM AND BE A FRIEND!!!!" also "I HOPE THEY ARE BEING WELL LOOKED AFTER AND TRAINED!"  maybe its not anothers place to see to it that another family is training the new but IT IS THIS COMMUNITIES PLACE TO SEE TO IT THAT THESE NEW PEOPLE ARE TAKEN CARE OF ENOUGH TO WANT TO STAY WITH MAFIARETURNS!!!!!  

I like it, but I don't like the option that the player gets to say if he/she is new or not. If it could be coded in that a actual new account, instead of a new player, gets the some sort of new player stamp then that'll be cool. I've had at least 2 people lie to me about being new only to find out that they know more about the game than I do lol

+1 to the new player stamp but take away the options.

Aye and your gonna have that problem any way you go if some one is serious about going Incog then they would use a whole new email and etc. We can take the task of trying to weed out the lies but like I said if you can look over the abuse some would use to say they are new this is way more important then that like I said over and over. This isn't to benefit a sole person in aiding them to try and play incog, this is not in anyway taking away any conversation from the situation but is a means to HELP those that are first timers to this site and let us notice this and take the action to try and keep them nailed down here.

secondly i do like your idea on trying to keep new players involved and helping the community as i wouldnt have stayed when i joined xx days ago but i did have a nice sponsor who did talk with me and became one of my best friends on here, but to my point wouldnt it be the same as to see a new person online and simply send them a message seeing how things are going and possibly befriending them?

im not trying to belittle your idea as i said it is a great idea as i do see what the staff means with this rogue and so forth.

Aye and you are lucky to have a nice sponsor who kept you at these shores, but some are not so luck and I am not putting the sole blame on that part either. Yes you are correct it is the same as simply sending them a message, seeing how things are going and possibly befriending them....but are you doing that? Is anyone doing that? Is anyone byond looking for another body count to add to their family messaging these newbloods or giving them a second look/chance beyond looking at their profile and seeing if they are in a family or not? Are they? "Yes" What do you do? You go about your business don't you? The answer for me is sadly YES I KEEP ON ABOUT MY BUSINESS. Sad and true but I do not wish this anymore. I am hoping to see that some one is new with the highlight and going beyond seeing them in a family and reaching out to them and making sure they are enjoying the game... if they are communicating with any one? Are if they made any friends because for most of us i know speaking for my self back in 2005 when I started THIS GAME WAS MY ESCAPE! I was looking for friends and if noone had ever contacted me and acted like a friend I probably wouldn't have stayed. Text based games wasnt something I was really into but this game just stuck. YOU PEOPLE STUCK TO ME!
