Melis had met Solid in Corktown. She had no idea why she was called down here so she shrugged and walked silently beside him. They chatted for a little bit and she got lost in the conversation of daily business.

Looking up she noticed a few others had joined them and soon they stopped walking. Melis raised an eyebrow at Solid. She wasn't alarmed but rather curious. Her eyes drifted over to Cantillon. Taking in his stance she didn't think he was here to deliver her weekly truckload of pepsi. Between Solid and Cantillon stood JohnnyNoname. His horns were polished and his hair brushed until it shined.  Next was Mako and Desmand. Both impeccably dressed in their suits. Lastly was the colorful rainbow bear Jeddy. Taking in all the smiling faces around her, Melis began to relax. It wasn't every day you were surrounded among so many Godfathers.

Gathering up her courage under so many incredible people she asked the question that was nagging at her.

"So what are we all doing in Corktown? Not that I am not happy to see all of you but I am confused."

Trying to rack her brain of the occasion that could have made them all come here after such devastation. Her birthday was quite some time ago so it was hardly a reason for them all to be gathered around her.

Lifting her gaze upwards she noticed Mako looking at directly at her. There was a few minutes of silence that seemed to hang forever before he started talking.

"We've decided as a collective group to give you the opportunity to set up in Corktown, Detroit." Melis' jaw dropped.  This was entirely unexpected, she thought as Mako continued. "We've noticed your effort and would like to grant you the opportunity to lead your own district."

Melis turned her head to Solid to see if this was a joke. He shook his head slightly as if he understood what she was silently asking.  She was silent for a few minutes. Her mind racing a mile a minute. She didn't think she could put all of what she wanted to say into words adequately.

Looking at each one and everyone else that had gathered around to listen.

"I am extremely honored in your faith in me. This is an amazing opportunity and one I hope I can do you proud in.  The only promise I will make is to continue to work as hard as I always have and strive to make Corktown successful."

She knew there would always be more that she could say but her gratitude was immense and simple words would not do it justice.

"What will your family be called?" Solid asked as he handed her the key to her new headquarters.

Melis felt a smile tugging at the edge of her mouth before she grinned widely.

"The Chthonians of course."

With that she was whisked into the building so that she could have a look around for the first time.

Spiels didn't make it to Corktown very often.  But this was a special occasion.  His dear friend Melis had been authed and he would not miss it for the world.  He spent some time chatting with some old friends as Melis made her rounds, receiving congrats from everyone.  When it looked like she had a free moment Spiels made his way over to her.  He gave her a big hug and a kiss on each cheek.

My dear Melis!  I knew you would get your opportunity!  I know you will do great and don't hesitate to contact me if you need anything.

I'll have to remember to keep my hands to myself in Corktown now I guess...

Rolling through downtown he strolled into Corktown on his sammich cart and arrived at the headquarters of the newly appointed leader Melis.

Well done on your recent achievement of leadership in Corktown, I look forward to watching you lay down the foundation of your new family and district. We are happy to call Detroit as well and welcome you with open arms.

Monty finally decides to pay ze newer, bolder Melis a visit.

"Ermahgerd, tell me this is all a bad nightmare, tell me I'm still sleeping", he grins as he puts up a playful tone.

"We're all gonna die, I tell ya. Don Melis is in town, pwning shit like a fuckin baws."

He giggles like a little schoolgirl. He regains his composure eventually and pets her.

"Well done Melis, I see all the pestering has stopped you from slacking. Gook luck with the future of Corktown."
