It had only been a few hours since the boys landed. They got themselves situated at safe houses scattered around the city, some in the French Quarter, some in the Garden District, and then again some in Lakeview. The transition was quiet - no interruptions. Legitimate fronts would naturally serve as cover. Once everyone was on the ground, he called a meeting with the old regime, remnants of Muqtada's hierarchy who remained. Their news was expected, and as seen they didn't exaggerate. Since the accidental death of late Don Muqtada and the schism on the streets, hoodlums and small timers picked up the pieces of La Frat's old operation and were set up all across town. They were divided and relatively weak compared to Cosa Nostra, but they were definitely a stumbling block in the way of controlling the whole city. In life, the late Don managed to keep these hoods in check and employed a number of them to dabble into the traditionally forbidden trade of narcotics. The real profit was in drugs, wither it be cocaine - heroin, even the light stuff, came in cheap and was able you yield profit elsewhere. To justify the move to New Orleans - Sal would have take advantage these hoodlums. Like those before him, he'd have to squeeze them till they surrendered into cooperation. By reapplying the pickpocket friendly policy, held by the old regime - this would keep the pressure on the hoods, being instrumental in suppressing the unsanctioned business on the street. "From this moment forward, New Orleans is now once again pickpocket friendly. I do this to uphold the tradition started by our late friend and to bring pressure on the hoods who fail to kick up or surrender their cooperation to our thing." This is welcomed by nods and open agreement. The remnants of the old regime had to also be reunited and reorganized, only then would old friends and contacts be reintroduced to the fold - wealth, power and political connections would be at his finger tips. "The former underboss and right-handed Munchkin would be the ideal choice to work along side with us. She has my nod to retake the abandoned rackets along the river banks. The gathered associates and soldiers clap and some in unison say salut. Munchkin, who is also present, offers a warm smile. The sons of the deceased and surviving old guard stand by their new boss with pride. With the old regime being rebuilt, it's policies reaffirmed - it was only a matter of time, til the city was under the reigns of Sal and it's green in his pocket. |

Munchkin, *wipes a tear from his eye* You have no idea how highly my father spoke of you. In my own short time in this thing of ours, I can see his respect and admiration for you was well placed! You are a giant.... among munchkins... so to speak! I have no doubts you will serve the streets of N'Orleans, as Sal's captain, with the same honour and pride you have always shown! Congratulations my friend. I look forward to working for you, as I have enjoyed each moment working for Sal. *Gives Sal a firm handshake, before wandering in to check out the new headquarters in New Orleans* |

| Huzzah! It's always excellent to see old regimes brought forth anew, in my eyes. It brings a sort of welcome stability to this thing of ours, but without sacrificing the chance for new developments. And as far as I'm concerned, you couldn't have picked a better woman to set up next to you, Sal. Today is indeed a great day for New Orleans and for everyone. | |

Munchkin It is my greatest happiness to see you get your chance in this thing of ours. You have fought hard for your families and have been nothing but a model mafioso all around. I can think of no one better to work along side my street boss Sal. Hopefully as a team you will make N'awleans a better place. A place where tourists will be scared to leave there wallets unattended. Congratulations dear. You deserve it. |

Looks around the city and right away spots some of the small time hoods Sal had warned him about. He shakes his head then looks up to the sky as if somebody up there is going to help them get this city back. The only thing he finds is a hard rain falling on his face and a bolt of lighting three feet from frying him up for the fishes. It's 90 degrees. How is it raining when it's 90 degrees down here? Well, this is going to be some hard work. But I'm here to tell you boss, I'm ready for it. Whatever you need boss, I'm here. And Munchkin. Solid choice. I look forward to seeing what you can do. Congrats and let's get this city back. |
