Brick_Pollitt, I Give In Started by: NikkiPhoenix on Feb 13, '09 14:00
Normally, the promotion to Capo is a relative non-event, especially if you're not a crewleader or rocking the slanty. Unless you're ridiculously popular, this promotion goes by without much to-do or fanfare.

But I come to you today due to the promotion of Brick_Pollitt. He is not a crewleader, he doesn't rock the slanty, and he certainly isn't popular outside of the peanut gallery, but his promotion is very, very important.

Because he beat me.

I'm sure some money greased Sal_Giaquinto's palm. I'm also sure that the homeless and more slothly members of the seven cities spent a bit more time in jail the past week or so. I'm almost 100% positive that there was some sort of conspiracy involving a letter writing campaign to inundate me with mobmails to distract me from my own ranking endeavor.

The simple fact is, Brick_Pollitt, my loving husband, has a complex. Its not that he doesn't like losing, or that he even minds losing to a girl. His motivation is entirely ungentlemanly and unsportsmanly. He doesn't make these bets for his own dignity, rather the degradation of my own.

But despite his dastardly underhanded scheming to win this, and foul play afoot, you won, Brick. You won. Unfairly and roundabout, I'm sure, and trust me... I've got my eye on you.

So, pursuant to our betting contract, Article II, Paragraph 4, Subparagraph A, third line (he totally lawyered up on me!)

"And I, NikkiPhoenix, if beaten to the rank of Capo by one, Brick Pollitt, do promise to fulfill the terms of this contract in full as agreed to in sections four, seven, and ninety two."

She takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, steadies her nerves and prepares.

Brick_Pollitt.... In every way...

Nikki grumbles, but still gets it out.

You're better on top.

Unable to control herself, Annie bursts into a fit of laughter- cackling and very nearly howling with amusement. The only words she can manage to spit out are broken up by laughter.

Priceless....absolutely priceless....

I would stand here and congratulate Brick, throw him a major party or buy him some Dr Pepper or something. Except, I too have my suspicions that he did this through noble means. I am sure he did something to slow Nikki down, because he is just not this good.

Brick opens the door to his bar to see his lovely wife in the middle of the street yelling to the masses. She was as beautiful as ever, with one lovely addition - pink curlers in her fiery hair. It was a great look, one that only Nikki could pull off. So, after admiring his wife, Brick stood and listened, coffee in hand, as his wife spoke so eloquently.

He could barely contain himself, and nearly spit the coffee all over the street, istead he managed to hit only himself.

Oh Nikki. You know you didn't have to come out here and admit this to the world. The fact that you did is worth all the hard work. And by the hard work, I mean all the palm greasing, and underhanded, and unfair play you mentioned. It's all true, and you know what? It's WORTH it.

Does a little dance in the street.

I appreciate you coming out here. Seriously, it means a lot to me that you are a woman of your word. I always knew that, but still - it's nice. And you know I couldn't have beaten you without your help. As unimportant as this is to the community as a whole, it's still nice to be able to come out here to say THANK YOU to you.

I love you. :) And I am better on top.

You know Brick the more I think of this the more I just don't understand you at all. Most men prefer their woman on top and would not fight so hard to be told they are better on top. Men usually like to sit back and enjoy the woman doing all the work. You confuse me sir.

Brick stares at Munchkin momentarily, then shakes his head while pondering the question.

You know Munchkin. I thought you knew me better than that. You know I'm not like most men. And just because most men would prefer women on top, and that women do all the work...doesn't mean that's what women would prefer.

sighs

See, I'm all about my wife. And thank you for proving my point.

Looks back up to Nikki

See babe, I did it all for you! You don't want one of those men that wants you to do all the work. I'm willing to put in my share. Of the hard work.

So you did it all... for me? For us?

Nikki pulls out a heavy tome entitled "A Contract: Race to Capo by Brick Pollitt, sworn and agreed to by Nikki Phoenix-Pollitt.

Was the contract made as something I could rest my feet on after a weary day at the office?
