James walks out of the coffee shop and down the block a little. Once he sees a good place to ask his question he stops and climbs up on to his parked car at the corner where everyone is waiting to cross the street.

Hello all may I have your attention for a brief moment. I was having a cup of coffee earlier when something just kept running through my mind over and over. My ancestors have passed down to generation to generation not only family but to friends and associates of theirs the simple values of omerta, loyalty, and respect. I live by these everyday with out a question of ever going against these values.

James stops for a minute to see if anyone is actually paying him any attention.

My question is do we still pass these values on to those new to those new to these shores or do we let it slip by and make ourselves think these things are already known to everyone? I think some of us do think its something everyone should know but its not. Obviously we all have had experience at one time or another someone disrespecting us,breaking omerta,or not being loyal to family.

James took out a cigar and lighter and continued to talk as he lite it up.

Do you look to yourself to teach or do you look to someone else to teach the new immigrants to the country? I'm betting that many of us look to someone else to do the job when it would be done the right way if each of us did it our self. Then there would be no talk of no one taught that young person the right way to live this life. Cause if they fail and screw up you have no one to blame but yourself for not making sure you got through to that person.

James puffed on his cigar and scratched his head than began to come down from the roof of his car.

Maybe I'm not making any sense but this is just the way I feel about how things have started to change little by little these days.

It seems to me that most of our mobsters learn the most from middle men in a family who help recruit them and answert their questions. Sometimes the LHM, or RHM or sometimes even the boss when he has time, but often its some earner with a passion to recruit people and then mold those new people into good standing members.

As far as me, I try to teach the new mobsters when I notice their errors, but very often their errors are in public and are quickly 'resolved' by others, some negative, some in a helpful fashion. When you become a leader, you take on the job to teach these guys or have someone in your family apointed to do such a thing, because these members are examples of your family, and every leader should want to leave a legacy with their family of proper mobsters.

Paul is standing at a news paper stand when he see's a member of the family in which he is associated with. Hearing the words of James he is touched.

I am new to these shore and I was embraced by all the members which i now pledge my life to! Striphe is correct about learning from the middle men in a family who recruited them. I remember my grandfather reading me letters from his uncle upon arriving to America and how his family took him in and how the made men and wise guy's helped him walk like a member of cosa nostra. To have and take pride in everything they did. To be a man of honor, respected by the people in our community and to respect those in the community large and small. Those things are now instilled in me.

Paul smiles and tips his hat at the two men as he turns to pay for his paper. Then he walks way
