Carmine stood outside 'Gato's Buscetta Pasta', snow on his shoes, his long black trench coat swaying a little in a light breeze that made loose snow dance. Thoughts have been going through his mind, not just of the life he chose, but of fellow 'Gangsters', as the newspapers called them, that also chose the path of Omerta. Many of them were respectable, they knew when to act and always helped out those of their Famiglia.

Cars drove by, lights casting shadows against the surrounding business'. He couldn't help but notice the differences between America and Italy. One thing was food, no doubt about it. Thoughts of homemade pizza, canoli, bread, wine, zeppoli, sauce flooded his mind, nostrals and taste buds. His stomach rumbled a warning that food was indeed of importance. Family was another thing that was different here. Carmine remembered his childhoood, sitting with his brothers and sisters, his parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, talking about who was growing up too quickly, who was getting married, and who looked like who. His Nonna's amazing homemade pizza made his mouthwater just at the mention of it.

"Where the hell are they?" He muttered to no one specific

It had been a long time since his youth in Napoli. Now, here in America, he had his own house, car, girlfriend, and interesting associates that only a hand few, including himself, knew about. He had heard stories when he was younger about these "Men of Honor", they could do whatever they wanted, and had more money then he could ever dream about.

He smiled to himself, he was a Made Guy in The Gato Regime. He remembered that day, it was amazing. His heart was pounding, over joyed and becoming one of The Family forever.

"There he is, it's about time." He said to himself, stepping close to the curb as his two associates drove up, in the driver seat was Cruel, next to him was Vincent Zambone. He knew word had got to them about what to be done. The car came to a stop and Carmine jumped in, glad to be out of the cold.

"Aye, how you doin? What took you guys so long?"

vincent relaxes, looking into his hands with his black leather gloves he thinks about the old days, before he knew of the inner workings of the mafioso, driving up and down the beautiful streets of his hometown in italy, thinking about the small cafe's and restaurants he used to go to, the dreams he had of being a musician. a part of him missed those days, having not a care or worry but circumstance took him away from this and another part of him is glad it did

the sound of the car door shutting brings vincent out of his regression and back into the here and now, looking at the rear view mirror into carmine's eyes he smiles, turning around he shakes carmine's hand

"its good to see you carmine, sorry we took a bit longer than originally planned, the roads are awful in this weather and there was an accident on the way here"

looking at carmine still shivering slightly vincent turns up the heater in the car

"so carmine, how have you been recently? i havn't seen you for what..."

vincent looks upwards, trying to remember when carmine and himself last saw each other for longer than a few minutes, due to them both being so busy in recent times

"...9 months, where is it you wanted to go?"

Carmine shook Vincent's hand enthusiastically

"Aye Vince, good to see ya, how ya doin'? It's crazy, you'd almost think we sell life insurance, as much as we travel. Fuckin' snow, I'll be lucky if I feel my face for the rest of the night."

He casually pulled the gun from his waist and put in it his coat pocket. The weight, the cold steel, the reflection of light that bounced off the chamber had an almost calming effect. And brought back many memories, some good, some bad. But all educational.

"Word came down from the big man through Sal, there's 3 guys in Lansing we gotta clean up. They need to go as quick and carefully as possible, no evidence and we gotta make it look like an accident. If word gets out it was us that did it, things could get ugly for the whole city, and we'll end up doin life in the can."

Thoughts came back to him of jail life. Nothing unique about it. You get points for staying out of the can, but sometimes you just had bad luck. Going to jail was just a part of the life, you had to face that one day, sooner or later, you're freedom is going to be taken away and there's nothing you can do but let it happen.

vincent notices the glint of carmines gun reminding him to check his, vincent was always carefull and very maticulous about checking his gun due to the time in his past when one cold evening, vincent was enjoying a drink of fine wisky in 'Gato's Buscetta Pasta' when he heard comotion coming from outside, shots were fired and a rogue gangster stormed in through the door, wearing a long black coat and a bowler hat, reaching into his inside pocket the gangster pulled out a 9mm and started randomly firing towards accociates and family members, vincent pulled out his gun, pulled the trigger but it locked, luckily Louis was there to take the intruder down.

vincent has never forgot that day and it constantly haunts him, he now always makes sure his gun is in perfect working order and can sometimes even be seen polishing the barrel

"i'm very well carmine, got a bit of jetlag though, tell me about it, i've been in three different states in the last five days!"

Cruel heard carmine and started to drive

"understood, do you know if the targets have any idea of this?"

vincent looked out of his passenger window and could see many groups walking the streets, but one group caught his eye, the group was travelling with very heavy protection, not only walking with them but also a few meters ahead and behind them

vincent thought this to be very curious but kept the task in hand at the front of his mind

"carmine, do you have a plan in mind?"

I was sitting in 'Gato's Buscetta Pasta', our lovely headquarter from where we operate. I had one of my favourite meals, Fettuccine alfredo. It tasted lovely even tough Carmine wasn't in the kitchen. I enjoyed a wine and thought about the past days. I've made lots of money and I met some good people...important people. Always good to have some solid contacts in different businesses.

Only a few minutes after I finished my dish I heared my brother Louis yelling from upstairs.

"SALLY! Come here!"

I walked upstairs into the office where Louis was sitting behind his desk. A bottle of whiskey was standing on the table and the cigar in the ashtray. Louis looked annoyed. He hasn't left his office today because he had to deal with lots of things. His gesture told me to take a seat.

"Sal, news just arrived me. There are some wannabe wise guys who knocked over some of our stores. Take care of it!"

I only nodded and left the office. Louis was sure things will be dealt with. I went to the bar to take a drink. I knew Carmine would be here soon. As he finally entered I told him to come with me. We went into the storage.

"Listen Carmine, there are some guys who were playing gangsters on our turf. We can not tolarate that. I want you to let them vanish. My informants told me that these kids have some very rich parents with influence so you need to be careful or the cops will go after us. Take Cruel and Vincent with you, one of our best men. You know them...I don't have to tell you that."

After our little chat we took a drink together and then Carmine left the building.

This was Thugsy Brown's first time in Lansing, and he didn't like it it very much. His life with The Gato Regime had given him the chance to travel all over America, but usually to exciting cities like Las Vegas and New York and New Orleans. Lansing, by comparrison and perhaps just by itself, was dull. Plus, given his mission, Thugsy Brown had to lay low and could not take in the limited night life Lansing had to offer.

Thugsy Brown was staying in the cheapest motel in Lansing. The facilities weren't stellar, but it was right across from the dinner his three targets liked to frequent. At six o' clock, on the dot, the three men would meet at Mable's Diner just across the street from the Blue Top Motel and around 7 or 8 they would roll out. For the past week, Thugsy Brown had followed a different one of them home to get a good idea of their movements and when it would be the best time to strike.

As far as Thugsy Brown could tell, Mable didn't seem to like these chumps too much. They strolled in acting like they owned the place, and by the time they left they were often pretty drunk. Well, her problems would be ending tonight. Thugsy Brown was glad he wasn't going to be doing this alone. Tailing these bums was easy enough, but doing them in quiet like, so as not to leave a trace, would be tough. For as long as he had studied the beats of the Lansing police force, he couldn't be completely sure they would be where they usually were.

"Still," thought Thugsy Brown, looking over the notes he had collected over the last week, "it'll be good to get out of Lansing."

Carmine had noticed the same large group out of the corner of his eye. But then it was lost out of sight when the car turned the corner.

"These guys had to of known that if they interfer with our business they're goin' to have problems. They wanted to make a name for themselves so, they let it slip that they're the ones who pulled this stupid shit. All the stories of guys way back when gettin' made because they had a reputation at an early age. Fuckin' morons."

He had to take a deep breath, thinkin of things like this only stressed him out. People always have to make things more difficult and never want to follow rules. Everyone wants the respect without giving it out and getting their hands dirty

"Word is that Thugsy Brown is already up in Lansing, he staked these 3 assholes all day. He's waiting for us a few miles away from where they're at, he'll fill us in with the details."

He couldn't help but shake his head and say outloud

"When are people gonna realise that gettin' your button has to be earned, by puttin' in work and showin' your loyalty. Not bein a damn cowboy and fuckin' with peoples' money."

"Well, this is it," thought Thugsy, as he shovelled his notes into his briefcase. "I'll have to remember to dispose of those properly once I'm done with all this. A nice bonfire in Detroit to celebrate should probably do the trick."

Thugsy Brown packed his things, turned in his key and checked out of the motel. He tried to always pack light, but it was still a pain lugging his things with him to the bus station. He probably didn't need to bring his cooking supplies. It's not like he got much of a chance to cook spending all his time staking out rich boys and cops.

The bus was two minutes late. Not bad, but this was the most important assignment Thugsy Brown had ever been on and those extra two minutes made him a bit jittery. There was one other person at the station: an old lady carrying a gigantic suitcase. Thugsy Brown helped her get her bag on the bus.

"You're a nice young man, sonny! What's your name?" she said.

"Uh... Albert. Albert Rossi." Thugsy Brown replied. Jeez. He hadn't thought about Albert Rossi since they got through grade school together.

"Well, thank you very much, Al! Here, have a quarter," she said.

"Thanks, ma'am," Thugsy Brown figured taking the quarter would draw less attention.

About ten minutes later, the bus reached the rendez-vous point. "This is my stop, ma'am. Take care now."

"Take care, Albert!" the old lady called as Thugsy Brown got off the bus.

"What a nice young man."

Cruel, Carmine and Vincent pulled up outside the 'Blue Top Hotel' at 6.30 on the dot, the plan was as follows:

Thugsy would play possibly the most important part, his role is to act as one of the Personal car parking attendants for Mable's Diner, Thugsy would meet Cruel, Carmine and Vincent outside the Motel at 6.45 as they had the car parking attendants uniform in the boot of the car. After collecting the uniform Thugsy will enter the diner, getting changed in the toilets to avoid identity connection, he will then leave through the fire exit which leads out onto the car park. Thugsy then needs to persuade the real car park attendants to leave their post for at least an hour, this is crucial because Thugsy needs to be the one who takes the targets car keys.

The targets are due to arrive at the diner between seven and eight o'clock, once they arrive Thugsy aka car park attendant takes the keys to their car, he then drives the car to a nearby safe house owned by the Gato regime. Thugsy will then make his way back to the diner to wait for the targets return. Once the targets leave the diner Thugsy will explain to them that he has been told that a car has been sent for them, and that they are needed urgently.

This is where Cruel comes in, after Thugsy takes the car parking attendants uniform, cruel will drive to the safe house dropping off Vincent and Carmine, after which he will drive back and park outside the diner acting as the targets pickup car. Thugsy will show the targets to the car, then will travel back to the HQ and give Salvatore the developments.

Cruel will then drive the targets towards the safe house where Carmine will be ready to complete the task, once Cruel reaches the safe house he will show the targets into a room and will explain to them that they are there to talk about a promising business proposition, carmine will meet them in the bar area of the safe house accompanied with a few of his associates introducing himself as a friend of a friend, Carmine, after going through the fake proposition with them gaining their trust and acquiring their enthusiasm for making a big profit he will hand them each a drink containing a lethal poison, after quickly but painfully meeting their end the bodies will be kept until the middle of the night when there will be the least amount of people on the streets

at this point Vincent will drive the targets original car with the bodies of the targets to a nearby lakeside road and dump the car in the lake after sitting the targets in the seats with one in the drivers position so that when the target's associates investigate their disappearance, it will look like an accident.

"look, here comes thugsy, right on time"
