I suggest we offer subscription options for the following features:

• Obits (with options to exclude unsponsored and NPC accounts)
• Thread Posts (with options to select which forums to subscribe)
• Duels
• Hitlist (with options to exclude hits on unsponsored/NPC accounts)
• HQ Purchases (perhaps just in your current or home city)

Being in #obits, #divinelunacy, and #duel offers access to Thread Posts, Duels, and Obits. I don't think there should be an inherent benefit to being on IRC. My suggestion is to make an option (perhaps included in the timers package or as its own "subscription" package) to get toast notifications for these events when you are online. When offline, nothing happens (so there isn't a massive stockpile of information when you log in).

The bottom two, hitlists and HQ purchases, are public information but they just aren't as often to be spotted.
