So, as for the first idea I have: With the introduction of the ability to tag people in threads, I first thought hashtags might be a cool feature, but I realized this would be too... much. However, I was thinking about some sort of extra field in the Streets, a specification offered when posting a thread there. There would be a limited amount of labels, but I was thinking something like: City/District News, Editorial, Announcement, Story, Role Play, etc etc. The reason I felt this might be useful is that, the streets are a melting pot... yes... but they are also sore on the eyes at times, and it's hard to tell which threads are actually worth reading. With a label, a person might be more apt to find what they're looking for. It would also be cool if this was a sortable feature.
This one is based on general advertising. Depending on how quickly the streets move, I felt that maybe there would be a case in which someone would want their thread to "stick" at the top so that it gets noticed, and people don't miss it when they check the page. I considered perhaps 1 credit per 8 hours. This would be useful for people throwing contests, or celebrations. It would also be beneficial for people to use for protection lists. The only caveat would be that people could abuse it, but perhaps there's a way to tame the potential beasts! |

Those are both great suggestions. Suggestion 1 sounds a little complicated though. I like the idea of picking a category but there are just so many I don't know if it's practical. What might be a little easier would be the ability to add a tagline - this could also be a pay feature like thread sticking I'm thinking like Ebay addons here, but they could be free too if you wanted. I'd probably be willing to pay to add a tagline to my threads and stick them to the top for x hours There should be limitations in place obviously for thread sticking - I would say it would be appropriate to put a 24 hour cap on it |

there ain't much activity in the streets these days. but the idea is worth looking into if street activity picks up. |

I like the original proposed ideas. Both of them. The first is similar to that seen on blogging sites; it would be great to filter RP threads when in the mood, and have a quick selection to jump in on! In regards to the second - maybe it would be wiser to pay a one-time only credit fee upfront, for the thread to last an X amount of time in the top tier of threads - that would allow people to get their thread seen by as many people as possible, but would also enable it to drift if the discussion came to a natural end. Thanks for bringing these good ideas forward! |

| Not a bad idea at all. Tags next to the street posting like RP, Discussions, Annoucement might draw more interest. It's worth giving a shot at least. | |

For suggestion one, I was thinking a very limited list of Categories... perhaps even with an Other (potentially another name) section to encompass a bunch of things...
And yes, there should be a cap on the second one.
Thanks for the support. |
