| Oh Chicago! (Announcement) | Started by: Guardian on Feb 18, '09 16:00 |
|
A bunch of large men all dressed in black start shoving everyone around trying to clear a space, as you wonder what is going on you see everyone getting told to make way for the Don of Chicago before you have time to think about it you get shoved by the barol of a gun. The Don clears his throat and thanks his bodyguards for their great job and then addresses the public.. Today I would like to let you all know about a change in my great city which is being implemented... As we've seen in the last few weeks, there's been much discussion around mugging, pickpocketing, sly-fondling, or anything else you want to call it! Of course, this followed a couple of crew leaders opening up their cities with PP-friendly policies. This is all good, and that is their absolute prerogative, but perhaps it is time to give the disgruntled mafioso a thought? By this I mean, the people who HATE to be pickpocketed. Really, if they don't want to open up their pockets to random strangers, no matter how friendly, Why should they? They don't necessarily want to have to sit in a city fearing their pockets could be dipped into every hour! I mean, they work hard for that cash after all. Of course, we know that certain individuals prefer to wear a 'Do not PP' tattoo, but that means nothing in the aforementioned PP-friendly cities where the crime is permitted. Today I am here to announce that... Chicago is now a Non-PickPocket city! What does this mean, you ask? It means NO Pick pocketing in Chicago, at all!. For the disgruntled among you, there is now somewhere that this crime will hold consequences. What will happen if you are caught? 1st time: You'll receive a warning from myself. Everyone deserves a second chance. 2nd time : Second chance wasted, I will shoot you, regardless of your rank. Now, to nip any sensationalism in the bud, this isn't intended to cause any friction between myself and those that prefer PP-open cities. Not at all, if I'm in those cities, I would still expect to be targetted, of course. Chicago, however, is now off limits to random PPers. As I say, this is purely to satisfy the public who don't want to be pickpocketed by strangers, whilst at the same time hopefully helping to create an environment where people can feel safe as they wander the streets. We like to encourage new business in Chicago, and perhaps the thought of starting a business in a city where people will have to answer for committing these crimes is appealing to some. Guardian doffs his cap and retires to his HQ... |

I can't say I agree, but I do recognize that we are not all the same and in many cases must simply say "to each his own." I wish you well in the fair city of Chicago with this endeavor. For clarification I must ask a quick question, however. When you say "NO pickpocketing in Chicago, at all," do you mean that even those who ask and obtain permission for a friendly competition will be shunned in your city, or merely that unsolicited attempts shall be met harshly? I am also interested to see how those families who allow pickpocketing in any location will react to this message. |

| I am hoping and guessing Sayyid that they will accept it and advise their members of the policy. Just the same as the families who haven't got such a policy advised their members that if they are in either Philly or New Orleans that pockets will be picked and they have to accept that. | |

Slamming down his cigarette as he walked up to his Don, DrTran smiled... I am curious sir, does this outlaw friends PPing each other who have a prior arrangement to do so out of sport? Either way I will abide, but I have many a friend who check my pockets from time to time, and I theirs, due to a prior understanding we have, and I'm just wondering if Chicago is now off limits for this. As DrTran turned to leave, he flipped Guardian his new card; it slid into the Don's suit jacket pocket softly... Come check out the new HQ...before these guys mess it up! ...but by the time he had slid the card from his pocket, DrTran was gone; a flash from his holstered .38 Special and a puff of smoke from his cigarette the only signs he had ever been there at all... |

It does not matter a jot what the other family heads think of what goes on in Chicago. Guardian does not want petty thiefs running round commiting their shit sneak thief approaches on his streets or his members. He is the Godfather and that is his right. For me, fucking excellent move. I hate everything to do with it. I can complete a drug deal and before I get to the bank I seem to have 'misplaced' some of my profits on the way to the bank. I shall spend far far longer in Chicago now and I am sure thats your aim. |

| No Pick pocketing in Chicago, at all!. That pretty much sums it up, it would defeat the object of the thread by allowing friends to Pickpocket within Chicago. | |

| Lets not get ahead of ourselves Abbey my dear. He is the leader of the city, he isnt the godfather that honor is currently reserved for the Mighty Evsie. | |

Yes, I thought this may come up. Back in a time long long ago there were no Godfathers. There were Dons. Dons were seen as the leaders of cities and often referred to as the 'Godfather' of that city as those who held that rank had retired for good and passed it over to whoever lay claim to it. Guardian is the leader of Chicago. He has full control of that city and as such I view him as the acting Godfather.. |

Upon hearing the announcement from Don Guardian, Stapled promptly tips his hat and acknowledges his orders I personally like this idea. It's all well and good seeing different families come to these streets and encouraging people to try and rob their wallets. Now there is finally a city that is issuing a firm no to those pesky pickpocketers (try saying that with a lisp!). There has been a time in this thing of ours where pickpocketing, or mugging as it was once know, was severely frowned upon and a lot of mafioso still act on the old views of our forefathers. So now there is a safe haven to go about your "business" and have a peace of mind that you will not be attacked. I say attacked because again, this was how our forefathers deemed it once. I will be supporting Guardian on this one and I have informed all my members to respect his wishes whilst also staying vigilant whilst sitting outside our HQ to try and spot anybody going against this law. Stapled says his piece and makes his way back toward his office |
