| Remove admin wacking reason section. | Started by: Achilles on Aug 07, '14 05:55 |

Pretty self explanatory. The reasons tend to be more personal than actual explanations for the DD. I figure the whole point of the reason section is to ensure us Admins aren't just DDing people for their own reasons and there is actual substance to the Admin wack. Recently as I say the messages seem to be more personal. May as well do away with them if it's going to remain that way. |

Actually no they should not. The community has a right to know why they were admin wacked whether we agree or disagree with them. So leave them so that way the user base is informed and up to date. |

You are right, the reasons could be a little more informative when its needed, and a little more professional. |

Aye I reread and see what your saying. But then again I still do not have a issue with the reasons. They normally always get to the point, whether we agree with the reason or not they do state them. They are the gods and its their right. |

It's not about satisfying curiosity; it's about knowing where the line is drawn. The rules are absolute, but Izzy has shown periods of mercy and periods of sternness. The purpose of the "Admin Wack Reason" field is to show precisely what rule was broken or how their actions crossed the line between good for the game and bad for the game. If players are admin wacked and no reason is provided, future user interactions may fall into the same category and lead to more DDs. By providing a distinct reason, the administrative team sets the current precedent for what is right/wrong. It's in the best interest of both parties if the admin wack reason field were used to explicitly describe what actions or words the user used to cross the line. That gives everyone a clear understanding of what happened, what rule they broke, and what to avoid in the future. Admins will have to wack fewer players in the future (because the precedent is set publicly), and players will know what lines not to cross. Win-win. As long as the "reason" is a personalized message to the DD target or omitted entirely, we don't really learn what to avoid in the future, and may cause similar abuses in the future since we were unaware of the "line" drawn by DDs. |
