| A few thoughts. | Started by: TheDude on Aug 14, '14 18:20 |

Venturing down the street after a long evening at the bowling alley, TheDude starts thinking to himself. "How can we get more people out to the streets? What can I do about it? And what can you do about it?" He continues walking down the street, passing street light after street light, as the thoughts fly through his mind. "Maybe a speech where one asks questions regarding what people would like to see more of in the streets could bring more people out there? Or maybe touch some recent event, and see if a friendly discussion could come out of it? Who knows what it takes to get more people out there, maybe someone that never speaks much in large crowds stepping out with a speech of his or her own?" Looking up at the stars, he realizes that he might not be able to get more people out there, but he thinks he can contribute in one way or another. Whether it be by touching down on a subject brought up by another spokesperson, or one brought up by himself. "Gotta start somewhere..." TheDude takes a seat on a bench, and breathes in the silence for a little while. |

How do you get more people to the streets? You are original. You take something and turn it into a speech that cannot be ignored. You have a answer for everything. You are never wrong. But if you are convince everyone you're not. Do not sit here asking me what needs to be done though. Those at the top are the ones that should show me the way. Teach and nurture me so I will have the confidence to stand before the and entertain. Facts are facts. Dead streets means dead leaders eventually. Although the same could be said for the opposite I suppose..? |

MR. RÉGIS takes a seat next to TheDude & places his newspaper onto his lap. he runs his hair through his fingers, removing his fringe from his forehead, before speaking.
sir, may I ask what brought you to the streets? i've not been keeping tabs on you - that i can assure you - but from my limited knowledge it appears that it not common practice for you to vocalise your thoughts in front of a crowd. in which case, may i turn the question around: what would bring you out here more? |

That is a good question Gaston. More encouragement from others could bring me out here more, best way I can answer your question sir. |

I think it's definitely down to encouragement. Encouraging people and explaining that the streets can be fun and not just serious. I also think when members of our families make a speech in the street that we should encourage others within the family to come out and support their peers. |

As Chapter_B waits for the postman to deliver her mail, she listens to TheDude's question and decides to voice her opinion. Street speaking is NOT easy, whether it's a speech or the telling of a story. You stand there as others do it, the ones who have eloquent voices and you want to do it too because you have something to say, but, you know the whole country will have access to your voice and be at risk of critisism, or even worse...silence. It can be a paralysing fear to some who have great talent but can't bring themselves out here. It is my opinion that each family should have, and I'm sure alot of them do, a writers squad. Experienced mobsters who mentor others to come out of their shells, to coach the ones who just need that little push. My bloodline had that with Starshine and Willow years back and I will never forget it. I am not a great speaker, but...I'm here. Thanks guys! |

Joey is sitting close by to TheDude and hears him speaking. Joey moves over to where TheDude is and starts speaking "Well, The streets are what you make it. No one really has to do anything, I myself usually never speak on the streets because I'm not sure what to say so I just listen in on the conversations and see what people have to say. As for getting more activity...I got nothing on there, I apologize if anyone already mentioned anything I spoke of I wasn't paying very close attention." Joey stretches and yawns while leaning back on a wall waiting for someone else to speak. |
