well, since every city has its citizens, maybe if there are enough people in one city to have elections for who will be the mayor of the city. It could be just a title, but people voting for mayor i think it would be fun. Also people should have to post in the streets some speeches about that, so i think it would help the roleplay.

I like it. It gives everyone a voice and might help activity. But the mayor would have to have some kind of duty, regardless of how trivial.

well, sure the admins could see if they could give some priviledges to the mayor, without effecting too much the gameplay. So, the mayor will not be a rank, it will be for sure temporary, because, elections will be like every 1-2 months (?). Also what could happen if the mayor dies? could we have new elections then?

As I am thinking of it the admins will have a lot of work to do, but then again, we could organize elections in the streets without to change anything in the game code, and the mayor could just wear a tab. The only difficult thing is how to achieve the voting system, because the vote should be not in public.

Any ideas anyone?

Mayor could have powers to closed business establishments. Maybe once a week the mayor would have the power to throw a lock down in his city.
