I wonder how many of you know about free software. In case you don't know what is it, here is a video that might help.

The point is using free software you are closer to your freedom. Other companies keeping people blind from what their software does.

Usually proprietary software is spying users and delivers info in marketing departments in other companies. Sometimes it restrict you from using information.

If you are curious about how it is to live without being spied from the company who sold your software, entering in a community where the community itself is responsible for safeguarding freedom, developing their quality, try using GNU/LINUX.

If you feel erected just by listening to  words like Apple, or Microsoft, just forget it.

yes Achilles it may look as a joke, but it isnt. They don't spy you to put you in jail for something you did, they spy you because they want to manipulate you as a consumer. They treat you as a consumer and they sell you hardware which they give you limited access to it, so you will do only what the companies who sell proprietary software want.

It is not about if you have to hide something, it is about weather you can or not to choose what to share.

In Free Software the software is controlled by the users, and in proprietary software the users are being controlled by the software by extension controlled by the company who sells it. It's up to you to choose what you want for your life.

the problem of the internet and offline software is the spyware is everywhere. tracking cookies, spyware in free software at stages, hidden in windows.  There used to be a lot of videos to teach you how to remove it all without corrupting the system, but everywhere you go on the net, someone is trying to watch or track you 80% of the time probably whether in built software or cookies and pop ups etc.

Carlos_Hathcok in free software the users can check the source code of a software.So they can really know what this software does. In proprietary software we can't access the source code. So in free software if there is a software who is trying to spy our computer, or is restricting us from using our hardware 100% as we want, the other users will see it and inform the rest of the users. But this is not possible to happen with proprietary software.

i understand the idea of modifying the source code, etc; but i also understand due to this, is down to where is downloaded from also the dangers within it.  As well as possible additional applications downloaded linked to it, which can have hidden malware etc.

As for windows, is plenty of ways to hack windows apart if you have the right skills or direction, as well as the simple removal of programmes tool which you know have holes e.g. internet explorer.

I understand free software, but i understand the risks of both.
