what if there was, a quest in the game, that would needed all crews to work together. Something that would effect, for example economically, to all the players if they fail. If they succeed, they could get bonus xp, or money. Something like the durdens. For example, it could be in front of us the end of the prohibition. And to not let this happen maybe some tasks from each crew should be done. Thats for the admins to decide what. It could be simple npc kills.

But my point is to make all crews work together for something!

Of course this don't mean that everyone will be happy, because probably after a fail, the others will blame the weakest and maybe they will have fun.

I would kinda be more interested in the exact opposite. But then again rith now 99% of the families already work together as do the gf's

would be nice for us to have an npc invasion to fight off or something

"would be nice for us to have an npc invasion to fight off or something"

If the userbase in general consented that we could make this an option for the cities, I would be down for that.

Can you elaborate on that a bit more? Like what happens with an NPC invasion?

If you were around for it, its how we used to "open" up districts.  An NPC crew is formed that attacks the BGs of everyone from that home city.  You have to kill off a good chunk of the BGs of the NPCs in order for the NPC to be eligible to be shot.  Kill them off, then the top 3 can be shot (like tylers).  The NPCs defense and damage is tied to the size/strength of the city.  The NPCs never leave the city, so if you don't want to participate (or your BGs attacked) you simply stay out of your city until the event is over.

Oh, and only those FROM that home city can take the shots, it blocks outside interference.

That sounds bloody awesome. Kinda wish Durdens were like that! Except they were in every city and shoot at every fuckers BG's.

Could be coded based off a crew leaders activity perhaps? Super active CL, no way the NPC crew tries to take over, but if the activity drops to a certain point, the NPCs start pushing in. Just brainstorming

Either way, I like the idea

What is the purpose? I mean, sure - XP, kills... just, there are already automated Rogues, Durdens, MIA's - is it really necessary to have more fake conflict?

I've always thought that with the NPCs. They should come in shooting imo. Durdens return fire if we miss on them, but frankly most people wont miss unless they aren't being sensible with their targets. I would much rather Durdens acted the same manner that CAs do, if you shoot at someone in the Durden family you become a prime target for them.

I dont see that having a massive impact considering most spawns are done in one or two waves. But it would be really nice to have some sort of risk involved instead of there being free kills with no real risk.

We used to have a massive risk with shooting which was WB Death, now I agreed with it's removal because the concept was rather harsh and unrealistic really, but since it's removal there hasn't really been any risk to shooting and I do feel that are getting things far too easy on that side.

But hey, just my opinion. Back to the deviation from the OP though; would this be used in the same frame as the buying of Durdens, in that the City/District could purchase an NPC family to attack them?

What is the purpose?

P_habulis, the main purpose of an event like this is interaction. LOADS of people play this wonderful addictive game and never get to participate in the actual wars, which are by far the most exciting times we have. So many people fail to understand that side of things because they aren't included, this is even more prevalent now when there is a large group that can handle take downs without including anyone outside of said group. Having an option like this would be freaking awesome of the little guys that want to work with their family in this type of scenario and maybe even teach people how to plan an attack, how to target etc. I really enjoyed the NPCs that attacked when a District opened and would love to see this become an option.
