Yes, we get it. There are a lot of people in bold and slanty suits lately. Still, these families are filling up, which means that the numbers are just as proportionate as they've always been. Instead of focusing on how many leaders there are, perhaps instead we should be focusing on how to keep the interest of those that aren't in leadership positions. Then again, those that are in such positions are always likely to be working longer hours than those that aren't--that's how they ended up in those positions in the first place. |

Whilst not a fan of having so many auths, I don't think it's a huge issue in terms of how this thing works. It's a fine balance of course and, in my opinion, the re-balance that's taken place is teetering on the edge of going too far in the other direction. That is not to say the initial moves to auth more people were wrong, just that it's gone a little over the top in places.
Regardless of whether we have many auths with smaller HQs, or fewer auths with larger HQs, our population is our population and it doesn't seem to change much. The 50-man HQs have an average of around 37-38 members, whilst the 25-man HQs have around 22. Not too shabby in terms of the HQs actually using their capacity.
HQ size is integral. As long as we don't have 22 auths sitting on 50-man HQs (or the old style 75s), it's not a major issue. One of the benefits of more auths is, perhaps, that one war doesn't bring this whole thing to a stand-still and that more people get their chance in this life. However, it does have it's drawbacks in that, really, with all the splintering, change comes around much slower and things can appear quite stale, which I suppose is good for those at the top because as we see with the Godfathers, they're afforded more time to do their thing.
It's all about opinions though I suppose, ultimately I don't think it really matters, it's still just the mafia divided by very clear city lines, for the most part, and fragile relationships. |

Even though I disagree with the idea of someone buying a ride on the Godfather Tilt A Whirl, like you said you gotta make your money. Just like those who choose to sell drugs to children and rob old ladies, as long as they can afford to support their habits whatever they may be.
