So to all you people out there with Football Manager, I've been thinking we could get a few people together and get a network game started. I know not everyone has the current one but if I can get a few interested faces maybe we could play on an older version, most people tend to buy each series and since they're so similar it wouldn't make a massive difference to us.

I used to run a network FM game for a group of friends. It's certainly not easy to manage though!

Make sure when setting it up that things like time to play and numbe required to continue are agreed. e.g. only 5 out of 8 come online.. continue or not?

Aye, would have to pick a specific type of team too, I mean I can't imagine there being an overwhelming response to this but it would be good to get around 5 of us on board. At least then we have more of a chance to get everyone online at same time.

i been using a patched version recently to bring a team up from the counties divisions of league 12.  Is always a challenge when people stealing my amatuer players and no transfer budget, wages, ticket prices.

Don't forget that at www.footballmanager.com/demo there is a free demo to the game that lasts 6 months : ) You can continue your progress from the demo once you get the full game, so it's not a bad shout.

Yeah, no worries, need to set up my Raspberry Pi tomorrow and get XBMC sorted on it then i'll re install Steam and use their hideously slow dl speeds.

I've never purchased a version of FM, always been a downloader regarding this franchise for some reason. No longer on a laptop, yet if/when I get my entertainment shit setup I'll definitely be looking at this thread again. Surprised more people don't play this game, just hit up a torrent site! :)
