Rourkey, that's funny..... I've never heard of you either. So you must not be that big of a deal. People now may not know me, but people know my linage.

Not always for the right reasons, Anthony.
Report Post Tip
The only reason why you have never heard of Rourkey is because you are new blood.

He goes WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back.

Acutie: Please shut up, I've been around here since the beginning of the old world. I'm sorry if i don't take the time to meet every idiot who joins...... Just look, I am grateful i've never had the misfortune of hearing the idiocy that spews from your mouth.
Report Post Tip
let me retract that, I actually do know rourkey and he knows me..... we used to be lovers. What a twist of events. The part about the idiocy stands.

Well my 2 cents, is the longer the peace and prosperity sadly the worse the war at the end. People get bored of peace and playing nice after a while. So like, dislike people as much or as little as you want, dis-respect or respect them nothing lasts forever in this line of work.

It saddens me that he was killed for speaking his mind. Same thing almost happened to me, so I understand when people dislike hearing the truth. Do I agree with him? Yeah, of course. Some points I may change the diction, but I agree.

For example, the war thing. Nah, war isn't good for business, but neither is letting your competing families rank and earn money for themselves. Mafia was not hand holding, which we have here. Let's all rank up and make money for our families, that's the way to prove yourself!

yes, that last part was sarcasm. Try and keep up.

The thing I find the most comical is the low rate of people who have responded, considering Anthony spoke his words to and in regards to everyone. I mean the general argument came to family lineage? That's just sad. His entire point and argument overlooked because you didn't like what he said. Boo-hoo. A man like Flying Pig comes out (or at least used to) and speak his mind. At one point he made a regular appearance. When he was high ranked, everyone shoved their head up his ass. When he was low ranked, mostly silence. When he was a civilian, you talked down to him.

Cpt. Who-err, I disagree with you as well. Think about how long we've been "peaceful" and tell me that people get bored. Yes, they do, but that boredom has become normal. It's become the standard. It's acceptable, and what is not acceptable is making a stand or giving a voice. It's as though we've traded intelligence for negligence. What'd we get in return? 5 Godfathers and 22 leaders, putting 44 people in as right and left hands to those leaders. With 66 people capable of sending family invitations, we still hold hands and hand out lollipops on the docks.

Harvey, I don't think Anthony was killed for simply speaking his mind. It was probably the disrespectful words in his speech that lead to his death. When disagreeing with someone or expressing dislike for someone, in this case the Godfathers, there's a line that shouldn't be crossed. Anthony knew he crossed that line when he said, "So go ahead, shoot me."

These kind of speeches from people who've been around for awhile are ridiculous. They've heard other people ranting like this and know it always gets the same results. The speaker is heckled and everything he says is considered hard feelings because he doesn't have power. Then there's the predictable over used statement, "Rank up and do something about it." The only thing accomplished from a rant like this is the speaker making himself look foolish.

Very true. The manner in which is was brought was "disrespectful" to say the least. But if I may, you have to look at it from his point of view. This is coming from a man so upset at the current condition of things, so fed up with what is now considered "the way of life" for a man in the organized crime "industry" if you can call it that. This man was so tired of not only seeing what he loved swirl down the drain, but he was tired of no one trying to fix it. Will a rant fix things? No. It makes some people think, and sometimes it makes people act. So you can think of this as an attempt at a catalyst. Was that Anthony's intention? We may never know. But I know he did know of the consequences of his actions, and let me just say, that in of itself speaks as well. Knowing full well what would happen he still did it. Balls to the wall, as they say. Because that's how strongly he believed it.
Report Post Tip
That's a fair point. I understand seeing something you once cared about turn uninspiring and not worth working for anymore.

Although some people might agree with Anthony's opinion about peace there are others who prefer it to war. When there are wars in our thing people complain about it. When a mobster who's lead a few wars dies people are thrilled about it.

It's impossible for everyone to like whatever state our business is in, whether it's war or peace. Those who are unhappy with the current conditions might find a little comfort by taking a look at the history of the mafia and seeing that nothing lasts forever.

I wished more people came out here, but I appreciate the conversation, Helena.

You can never make everyone happy. You are correct. But I think Anthony was saying (and I agree) that this going beyond making everyone happy. We've been peaceful for so many months. I mean, I'm not for important people dying everyday (though I'm not completely against it, either) but we're way past just being peaceful. Like I said, we just seem way too content on our condition, and that's what bugs most people I think.

I'm a no name C, at least I admit it. You're a no name C with delusions of grandeur that are Camazotz-esque.

I agree with Harvey - as time goes forward, there will always be people unhappy. Somewhere at the heights of prosperity, someone at the bottom end is unhappy with the way things are working.

I guess you can say the whole point of war is unhappiness - unhappiness with the regime of someone else, unhappy with certain policies, unhappy with certain values and virtues that are/were permeating at the time. It's an inevitable facet of life in this world, and no matter how happy or satisfied most people are with their lives, there will always be a minority that are unhappy with the way things are going.

Im incredibly disappointed that a member of our family would come out and say such things

This in no matter represents the views of our family and I personally am shocked that this happened

I hope that everyone realizes that these views are in now way the views of the Pharmacy
