Quilly was celebrating Mardi Gras big this year as the mob boss of New Orleans was putting a tax on the city. No gangsters above Made Man could enter the city without paying the city tax. This could be done on an individual basis of one hundred dollars out of one owns pocket or by sending New Orleans are large amount of dough (one million to be specific) out of the crew leaders pocket to pay for their whole family. Word on the street was that none of the other crew leaders were having nothing to do with this B.S. Quilly didn't really care, she hardly ever visited New Orleans, only on those special trips where her best friend convinced her to visit her home city instead of the thriving city of Angels. Tonight Quilly sat in The Blue Nile bar, owned by Mob Boss Sal_Giaquinto, but tonight it was being tended by her best friend. The two have been attached, or, well most of the time detached at the hip for a few years now. Quilly remembered the first day her friend had arrived in America. Her eyes were big and full of wonder. Quilly's friend had had ties with New Orleans, she told her mob boss that she was friends with -Santanta- and -Selena-, but Quilly always had a hunch that she was the daughter of -Santanta- and -Selena-. Quilly smiled at her friend, she was serving drinks to a very drunken man. He kept hitting on her, but she kept shying away. "When you get done you should come out with us." The man said to her. She replied softly. "Oh" She blushed. "I can't, I can't date customers. Boss' rules. She blushed again. Quilly's friend had always been a quick thinker, Quilly knew this rule didn't actually exist, as her friends last boyfriend was a customer, but then he tried to marry her and two other girls. Both Quilly and her friend didn't want to have any of that. Quilly's friend's next customer ordered a drink, but it looked like she didn't know how to make it. Her eyes scanned the back of the bar many times, before the customer just walked off. Quilly yelled over a word of encouragement. Don't worry Helena, he'll be back. With eyes like you have, he'll be back. Quilly smiled at her friend. Also, now you have that made man status. If he doesn't come back we'll go beat him up in a back alley. Congratulations on that, by the way. Quilly held up her drink as a toast. |

The worst place for Helena to work in was a bar. She was an expert with drugs, not alcohol. One after another customers ordered drinks Helena never heard of before. When she couldn't find what they wanted Helena dazzled them with a smile and offered them a beer. In between dodging pick up lines Helena noticed her friend, Quilly take a seat at the bar. She looked like a breath of fresh air with her California tan and sparkling mischievous eyes. When Quilly mentioned Helena's recent Made Man promotion the New Orleans mobster smiled proudly. A few patrons raised their glasses to join Quilly's toast. Helena picked up a bottle of vodka and refilled their glasses. A silence fell over the crowd. Looking around Helena could see they expected her to talk about her accomplishment. She hated speeches, but figured she owed it to Quilly to say something. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't practiced this speech before, but it was when I was eight years old and staring into the bathroom mirror and I was holding a shampoo bottle, not this... Helena held up the bottle of vodka in her hand then continued her speech. Sat, whistle or something so I'll know where you are. A loud whistle came from the middle of a group of hookers. I also have to thank my best drug customers.
