as bein one of the biggest crackdown dealers i believe its time we organise a price that we are no longer aloud to go under i think all crackdown dealers should get together on this and work out a price that we are no longer to go below and cut each others grass.... we spend our hard earned money to provide people with entertainment and achieve their goals in this thing of ours and i believe it is time that we were makin good money from doin so |

| David you do bring up a valid point but as does Abbey. What happens if those that currently buy at the current prices stop buying then what do you do? It's all about the business and the supply and demand. Do you really feel you can get all of those together that sell to agree on a price? And then lets say it is possible will they all uphold that price? | |

Let's talk business for a moment. I am a consumer of these city crackdowns, but I am a man of business. Business is supply and demand as Frank pointed out. But your costs basically reflect your need to cover overhead. So how much do you need to charge your customer to cover the costs of a crackdown? However, the other side to that is Volume vs. Expenses. Many business owners have this battle. Very common in the food industry. If your aim is high volume, low expenses, then by all means, charge less, get more customers. If your aim is low volume, high expenses, then follow suit. However, when the customer is paying more, he expects more. Think about the difference between eating in New York and eating in Detroit, or New Orleans. It's a different experience all together, but one not necessarily better or worse than the other. Now, with crackdowns, it seems the less you can charge the better. So unless you can offer your customers more for more money, of course I, as a consumer, will shop at the cheaper dealer. Think of it like drugs. If two dealers are both offering 80% pure coke with different prices, I'm shopping at the cheaper one. But if I came upon two dealers, one selling 80% pure and the other 60% pure, I will more than likely purchase the 80% pure even though he is more expensive. Get my drift? |

Ok. I have made my point. Here is something that you could do instead. You mail all the leaders and request a meeting with them. You bring along a few other Crackdown sellers who support your claims. You then put to them that Crackdown prices are at a all time low and you cannot afford to keep seeling them so low. All the other sellers agree. This is bad for the leaders as their members will now find ranking extremely tough thus thety will lose money. So, you propose that a list is drawn up of authorised CD sellers. They pay a up front fee of 500k to the leaders to be split between them all. They may accept that knowing that there may be as many as 20 or 30 people wanting to sell CD's. No small sum of money. For this, they will ensure that the prices cannot drop below a certain level and anyone who tries to force them to be dropped wil be dealt with by themselves. However, they may not bite. In which case offer them 10% of all business. Then 20 and then 30. You will still make enough money and you will have a leaders gurantee of prices. WINWINWIN for everyone. Right? |

Technically, you did give him permission... But I disagree with the first idea. Perhaps because I may not have 100% understood it, or perhaps because I liked the second idea better. Offering a leader a percent of your business is not only good business and a good way to protect yourself, but if anything goes haywire, they have to deal with not just one, but all leaders. The question becomes bookkeeping. How does a leader know you truly are paying out that percent and not skimming off the top? Some may hate me for this suggestions, but perhaps this is where City Hall comes in. A way to pay an individual for a crackdown, via bank transfer, and have a sum of that automatically go to one or all leaders. And you bet your ass this idea is copyrighted up the wazoo and then some. |

Now THAT is some clever thinking, Abbey. There is no way this will work unless you have backing from the people who run the streets. They will not be happy to be loosing out on money and would only ever probably consider it unless they are some how making money. I know it does not seem like it, but it could hit the ranking of our fellow citizens. That is not gonna be very well taken. |

Abbey that is a great idea except for the fact that if someone wants to buy the crackdowns from someone "under the table" shall we say and not from an authorized dealer there is not any way to track that. There for it still has the issue in this particular case the authorized dealers that split the money to pay to the leaders out more money then if they were to just sell as they are. It is a great idea if there were some way of tracking to see who is selling the crackdowns. Now don't misunderstand me I do agree that at some point the dropping in prices needs to stop for those that sell, but at the same time it doesn't seem like something that can be accomplished. Someone will always under cut the other seller. |

Thats a risk you take in any walks of life. Drug sales are the same. Someone will always try and undercut and make a sneaky buck.. But if Crackdowns start popping up and you and your other dealers have not been selling then they have come from somewhere. Smoke them out then wipe them out. The leaders will not only be annoyed at the fact someone has gone against their word but also that they are not getting a cut. You will find them alot more accomadating towards you if you are paying them weekly tribute. As for the person who asked about skimming money off the top. One day you will be found out and is it really worth losing your life? |

No matter what the min price is, I plan to buy you all out and have a stranglehold on the price of crackdowns. I will control the market! |

Good luck Fu-Manju its a crazy business we're in but where there is a demand for something, there will be dealers to meet it. all these CrackDown junkies need their fix. and all the dealers need their moneys worth. i will pay the supplier what he wants and raise the base price i bought them for by a small amount in order to get my original payment back AND a bit of a profit. Its just the way business is and has always been. |

hey fu you will not flood the market i tell you now not one person will or has been able to beat the about of crackdowns i bring into this city that was the point of this topic i have the monopoly... thats why i suggested this but if everyone wishes to go their own way than so be it but soon enough your clients will come to me and ask for somethin you used to supply and because we dont have a set price that we agree to not go under i will outbid you and they will become apart of my crackdown empire remember loyalty only gets you so far when it comes to savin money and makin more |

i have to agree with David, but at the same time, if we all agree to a set price the market will fall due to the fact that one supplier can/will take all of the clients and rip the other dealers out of their sales. so after thinking it thru ive decided that I will keep my prices as they stand in order to keep the competition alive. No offense, david. |

| I'd take the Adam Smith approach and let the 'invisible hand' guide the competition. If there's no competition, then what's the point? You might even lose business- people will pick their favourite CD seller instead of the best price. Agreed with Abbey- if people decide not to buy, then what? | |
