| Is "bold" the new. "Not bold"? | Started by: -Ellis- on Mar 08, '09 23:12 |

These days, i'm more of a traveller than a speaker, but what the heck... So, for the past few weeks i've locked my gun in my safe and it's place in my holster sits a pocket sized map of LA, Philly, N.O. or wherever I find myself. Ya know, these maps have saved me more times than my gun anyway. My sense of direction sucks. I once ended up in London whilst walking to my local LA 7-11 to make a withdrawal. Anyhoo, I digress... When I was in Philly last month visiting my good friend Sal, I walked into this nice part of town. It was my kinda place filled with my kinda people. Everyone was dressed all nice like. These fancy bold suits were real classy. My clothes made me feel under-dressed. Made a change from the way Angel makes us dress. PVC isn't my thing, you know? I stayed in a hotel there for a few nights before moving onto Detroit to see a few friendly old faces there. Can you imagine how embarrased they must have been when I told them that a tonne of people in Philly were wearing EXACTLY the same bold suits. Quite the laugh. Anyway, Detriot was lovely, apart from the freaky copycat fashion choices. I moved on from there, spending a night in Chicago, then another in New York. That's when I started to wonder if "I" was the odd one out. Bold suits everywhere. Is somsone handing out free money and not telling me? One final place to find out. SURELY Vegas would make me feel normal. (Yes, normal) So I get to Vegas, and went to the Butterfly museum, as you do. The first guy I see was the curator. What's he wearing? I think you can guess. I'd had enough. I gets back on a plane, engines blew my f-in' kilt up. 2 days in a cell for flashing my bits. F-in' cops. Anyway, it gave me a chance to think... IS buying one of these bold suits a thing that HAS to be done now? I remember when it was rare to see someone so well dressed. Times changing? Is "bold" the new... "Not bold"? *Does it show Sex and the City was on every flight?* |

It's strange how people are dressing alike though. I've found the perfect solution to the problem. You take a good look at Sao, and he is only wearing censor bars... But I am glad that I am not the only one that feels this way. But we pretty much have to sit here and take it. People wanted change...and I guess this is change... :/ Sao shifts the censor bars to his backside and walks away. |

Well old bean I thought I might take a more scientific look at the point you've raised and I have indeed found that you are very much exaggerating the state of things. I had a look at the line-up outside my favourite club. Here's whom I saw: Brick | Aurora | Angel | HydroPhonic | Rudiger | DiggerRourke | Mr_Corleone | MrsButterworth | iMgNaMaKeUrEyEzBlEeD | Candy | NikkiPhoenix | Adrian | skitz | Frankie_Gogolak | Zeva | BuddahDuck | Eclipse | Sayyid The ratio of Bold to Not-Bold was precisely 50/50. So you see, not everyone is wearing bold, far from it! ... |

| Yes, i do see what you are getting at; How many more bold suits will show up, without another one going down, but frankly, i would have to agree more with Diamond Jim Jr. It's not like everyone is wearing bold.....yet. | |

| Want less bold suits? Lobby city hall to return to the era of the 200-man HQ so we can have three monster crews walking around. Then you'll only see a few bold suits running around. Personally, that's not what I want to see happen. I tend to prefer the more personal atmosphere fostered by the smaller HQs. | |

What are you talking about? how many times are people going to whine about the number of bold suits? What number is too many? What is not enough? Where is it written how things should be done in our world?? |

| I agree there is ALOT more bolds than there used to ever be, but is that really a bad thing? I can think of many more positives than negatives, infact I can't really thing of anything negative other than the increased possibility of undeserved people becoming bold.. but even then to get bold you must have impressed someone else that is already bold so everybold stems from the GF's and high ranked CL's.. so every bold deserves the respect that they have earned by getting bold. I think the increase in families is a great thing, more interation, more choices for someone looking to join their first family, and if you think about it its not too much diffferent from when there was 200 people in a crew because half of the leaders if not more are leaders of a crew that is basicaly an extention of the main crew.. | |

| Sayyid, A-Mac, you both seem to be forgetting that when we had 200 man crews, we also did have a number of other smaller families along side them. You did have choice. | |

Howey listens and begins to reply Yes there are alot of Bold suits, but the people that are wearing are wearing them for a reason, should when a leader decides someone is ready to be bold not allowed to be because there 'are too many'? No because there isnt a limit the amount of bolds there is. |

| I'm just going to go along with Sao's idea of the censor bars, it makes life a lot easier. :) | |

Well I would rather there be many bold suits than me wearing a stained red one. Emori looks innocent and ran before that changed. |
