| Kittie sat on a wrought iron chair in front of Deluca's Deli and fumed. Of course it was half her fault. No, strike that. Maybe a quarter her fault, but it still stung. She was seldom demonstrative with her feelings and the harsh rebuttal of an offer she had made half as a joke and half deadly serious had more that wounded her pride, it shook her to her core. Now she was debating leaving town with no trace but knew it was impulsive and highly irresponsible. So instead she sat and fumed, hoping she'd see one of her girl friends or acquaintances from work. At the very least she hoped SOMETHING would happen that would distract her from how upset she was. | |

Vince approached Kittie slowly. He had said something in a letter that he really hadn't meant. In a fit of... he wasn't sure what he'd made a royal ass of himself. "Kittie, I know I am probably the last person you wanted to see. But I thought I would try to make amends." He put down her favorite type of muffin and coffee made just the way she liked it. "I wish we could rewind. Go back before I said that and start over, but since we can't, I just wanted to say I am deeply sorry." It isn't a bribe, it isn't a manipulation. I just wanted to say that I was an ass. I didn't mean what I said and the fact that I said it showed poor judgement on my part. Since I'm sober, I can't even blame drinking. But I guess I just blame taking you for granted. I don't want you to be sad, or angry and if there is anything I can do to square this, please tell me." |

*Kittie fumbled with the muffin, unsure if she really wanted to hear his apology.* Vince... *she sighed* I've just never been turned down like that. My ego is in a twist. *Kittie sighed again and took a sip of the coffee at least, trying to ignore the sad puppy eyes she was getting from Vinnie* |

Giovanni was just casually walking down the street, paying no heed to the commotion of the construction on the opposite side of the street. The air was a little muggy, but had a sweet smell from Mrs. Walkers' flowers two stories up. He continued walking down past the river, over the bridge, when he started to pass Deluca's Deli he noticed an attractive woman sitting at one of the tables.
